Does anyone know of a way you can turn off the vibrating feedback when typing?

Uncheck "Vibrate device when a button is pressed."

I am running the latest Juicy 8 ROM. That box was already unchecked and I was still getting vibration. I tried checking the box, and then unchecking it, but that didn't help. Any ideas?

Remove the check.

Strange SMS problem, has anyone else seen this?

Using the latest Juicy rom.

All SMS text messages I send go into the "Outbox" folder. When I try to see what's in the "Sent Items" folder, my screen fills up with a bunch of garbage (that I can scroll through, strangely). Once I leave the "Sent Items" folder the phone goes back to normal.

My phone will also send the same SMS messages in my Outbox folder repeatedly to the unfortunate recipents. If I delete the messages from Outbox, then it looks like the problem goes away.

I've seen this one a long time ago on another rom, but I don't remember which rom it was. Flashing to a new one fixed the problem.

I have not experienced that issue. All sent messages are in my sent folder. Though i do have arcsoft mms installed, if that difference counts for anything.

Juicy roms are good on battery and you will see improvements over the stock rom. Some roms are configured to poll the battery less often so it will appear like you have better battery performance, but the meter will catch up eventually! If you are only getting 5 hrs, with light usage, than you clearly have a battery issue. The other thing is by flashing over and over, the battery is not recalibrating so you really will not know it's true performance if you keep switching roms every day. You really almost have to flash a rom a keep it for a few days and charge cycles to really determine how it performs. Couple things though to improve battery out of the gate:
1. Activesync, if you are using, set it to a longer duration or only push email when you need.
2. turn beam off in settings>system>connections
3. turn off auto backlight and lower the display which will use less power.
4. make sure the phone is set to go in sleep mode in under 1 minute. your phone only uses like 13ma of power with the display off and 75-93ma on.

I use my phone moderately and after 9 hrs or so I still have 40% or more. Hope this helps.

Same here, I've also turned off automatic weather updates and "push internet"...nice concept but a real drain on battery.
