Warrning: After flashing a radio it will preform a RTN, this is a hard reset that the radio initiates. BACK UP ALL YOUR DATA BEFORE FLASHING A RADIO ROM. I take no responsibility for lost or corrupted data.

Remember: I am not responsible for bricked devices. Your phone, your risk, your problem if something goes wrong.

Thanks to No2Chem for lending me a hand in the early days!

I'm using the juicy Rom . But still experience battery issues . Is there a new fix for that or settings to reserve the rapid drainage. I initially thought iot could be the radio. Sorry a bit off topic

 way off topic. no one can prove that the sprint radio is the battery issue. because no telus user has tried both or vice versa.

i my self will not flash this radio until i can get my hands on the telus radio so i can go back if needed.

this radio WILL work on a telus device. remember though you might have to flash PRL via EPST as well after the fact. I contacted a telus user who corrupted his/her radio and asked them if they have no returned the phone to give this a shot it will be betterthen a brick diamond.

how does it brick a phone as opposed to flashing a ROM? I don't need details but can't you just revert?

say for some reason what so ever the flash proses fails part way. the diamond will not boot.

and yes there are advanced ways for recovering from a corrupt radio.

It's much more difficult to fix a radio than it is a ROM flash. There's also the chance you've just screwed it up to much as well. Not from that radio most likely, but still.

You got balls.

Btw, do you care to share how you extracted this radio, or did you somehow get ahold of a full sprint ship rom?

I was asking a duel question. I had used the 60614 PRL as tweaked the EVRC settings .

Re: Official CDMA Diamond Radio Rom Thread

well ive been on the sprint radio for a few days now, i can confidently say what it is and isnt.

it is:
better for signal
better for EVDO speeds/connection
worse on battery with a 15-25mah larger draw on idol then the telus radio.

the battery drain isnt as bad as i thought it would be. im still getting 1.5-2 days on the device with light usage. but it does have a slightly larger draw then the telus radio like i said.

Mr. X 10-19-2008 01:37 PM

Re: Official CDMA Diamond Radio Rom Thread

forgot to mention. sprints stalk tower polling interval is set to 1. telus is set to 2. at least it is when i flash this radio.

What about when the data connection is active? Mine jumps up to 500-550mah when data is active. Im at 75mah when idol.
P.S. Im on Sprint

i havnt had time to do an in depth on the data side of current draw. however on the telus rom i got the same draw your reporting on EV connection.

I ONLY get 57mah if I have the light sensor turned off, and the backlight set to the lowest setting.

Will this stock rom relock the phone?

Mr. X 10-20-2008 01:41 PM

Re: Official CDMA Diamond Radio Rom Thread

No this is just a radio rom, no SPL or OS.

cornelious2 10-20-2008 02:12 PM

Re: Official CDMA Diamond Radio Rom Thread

no, you have to run the relocker to lock your phone, but when you flash the stock rom it will act the same as stock except you have the ability to flash custom roms.

Re: Official CDMA Diamond Radio Rom Thread

So Juggalo you are on the Sprint Radio and now you have to wait to get the Telus radio to go back, but the question is will you go back?! is the signal and evdo better on the Sprint radio?

Mr. X 10-20-2008 09:14 PM

Re: Official CDMA Diamond Radio Rom Thread

i think i will go back, it does seem to be a bit worse on battery if u use evdo allot.

so i may bounce back and forth do some more testing... see what is the best over all.

but right now im on sprint rom and it seems to be usable. dont drop calls like telus radio

Armani G 10-20-2008 10:43 PM

Re: Official CDMA Diamond Radio Rom Thread

Hummm I am tempted to flash lol

Re: Official CDMA Diamond Radio Rom Thread

UPDATE: i did some DATA tests last night, and its sad to say but the sprint radio SUCKS BIG DONKEY BALLS!

i set up a ping test that ping'd open dns servers continuously. after 30 min of pinging mere bytes of data to the dns the device was so hot it could have basically melted AND it drained my battery from 80% to 30%. that's OUTRAGEOUS! the telus radio would never have done this. Its sad to say but you sprint guys are not crazy :D the radio does suck the big ol' kawk. so i hope sprint releases a better radio for you guys. and i hope i can find a telus radio for u guys to try and for me to flash back to.

long story short, cliff's notes sprint radio sucks a$$ on EVDO.

hey juggalo u never got back 2 me but does flashing a radio via rtask make any diffrence as opposed to flashing a rom via RUU?

Mr. X 10-21-2008 01:35 PM

Re: Official CDMA Diamond Radio Rom Thread

no i never flashed it via rtask to much work

sad to hear, can't wait for a radio update...

Re: Official CDMA Diamond Radio Rom Thread

im working on getting a telus radio for you guys too, bear with me its proving to be difficult.

Armani G 10-21-2008 06:58 PM

Re: Official CDMA Diamond Radio Rom Thread

ok so i flashed it to try it out myself, yes the battery drain is bad but the signal and data speed is much MUCH better! i can now stream my audio files because they wont stop to buffer!

So Signal and Data speed is better with the Sprint Radio but the battery drain is bad!

But i will keep this radio till telus puts out an update!
Witch i think they are with the HTC Pro that is why it has been put on hold!
