Re: [DEC 5th New Telus Radio V1.04.05V] Official CDMA Diamond Radio Thread

batt life really sucked with the stock sprint radio, i flashed the telus radio with no problems, no hard resetting, etc etc and imma see how this goes as far as signal/batt life/call quality goes.

gps still locks in at 3-4 seconds 10+ sats which is quite amazing.

answers

1. yes it will work fine with the sprint diamond
2. it was recommended to write down you setting or take a picture of them would be easier just in case you lose them after flashing the radio rom. You need the password code to access this so call Sprint and ask for it. You own the phone so they will give it to you but may ask why. just tell them you wanted to check the settings or something.
3. yes. but read a little to be accustomed with it. for example, some radios are packaged differently. the telus radio will not hard reset your phone which is nice. so if you have your phone set up currently they way you want it and you flash the telus radio rom, it will not hard reset you so will not lose your setting or software installed. i really suggest you read the entire thread to learn about it and what people have experienced through the process. It seems like a lot and frankly I was a little worried about doing it, but in the end once you gain a comfort level you will do it properly. the telus radio and the sprint tp radio are recommended by many in this forum over the stock sprint radio. good luck.

The fact that you were in a mall, which was probably the culprit, and it only showed 10% less than what you were reporting in earlier findings with your stock radio isnt enough to discredit the radio.
Oh, the 10% isnt the big deal, but its the time away from the charger. I was off the charger for 4 less hours and had 10% less battery.

Flashed to Telus on a Sprint as well, but I have noticed that I cannot receive text messages while in EVDO only mode. I didn't notice this before, but I never had good enough service with EVDO to keep it on all the time, but now I do, is this normal?

When I had the telus radio, I could accept texts without a problem. I'm also on Sprint.
