The GPS stuff most likely has nothing to do with the Radio, but the position of the satellites above you. The others are good though, better signal ftw.

the one from the HTC website is a full ROM - Flash the radio posted in post #1, doesnt matter when, as it does not perform a hard reset.

Re: [DEC 5th New Telus Radio V1.04.05V] Official CDMA Diamond Radio Thread

Yesterday, I tried out the Telus radio and I'm not sure if it was because I was in the mall all day (reception not as good in some parts), but my battery was worse than the stock sprint rom. I usually can go from 8:30AM to 6:30PM and have 60% left. Today I went from 12PM to 6PM and I had like 50% left. Everything else seemed the same (heat, reception, gps). I'm surprised everyone else had such great results though.

I'm using the Sprint TP rom now and that seems to be the best for me concerning battery. I might have to switch roms or something. The battery is irking me a bit. I miss my Touch's ability to have 8 programs open, pull email every 15 minutes and be able to take it home for the weekend without worrying about the battery dying.

i'd say 10% isnt much to worry about. if your battery was DEAD, then you'd have a definate decline in battery power. Being in a low signal area, regardless of what radio you are using will drain your battery fast. The fact that you were in a mall, which was probably the culprit, and it only showed 10% less than what you were reporting in earlier findings with your stock radio isnt enough to discredit the radio.

Oh, the 10% isnt the big deal, but its the time away from the charger. I was off the charger for 4 less hours and had 10% less battery.

I read about how if you flash a radio wrong, you brick your phone. So where are the instructions on how to flash a radio the right way? looks similiar to flashing a rom. What order would I use for flashing a new rom and radio and which radio should I use? Telus?

Re: [DEC 5th New Telus Radio V1.04.05V] Official CDMA Diamond Radio Thread

There is no order... because a Radio and OS (what most people refer to as ROM) are independant (as far as we're concerned).

Flashing a Radio is the exact same as a ROM, either alone or bundled together, you have a .nbh file and the RUU. You run the RUU, and let it do its thing. The only thing you have to worry about is the power going out or the cord being unplugged.

answers

1. yes it will work fine with the sprint diamond
2. it was recommended to write down you setting or take a picture of them would be easier just in case you lose them after flashing the radio rom. You need the password code to access this so call Sprint and ask for it. You own the phone so they will give it to you but may ask why. just tell them you wanted to check the settings or something.
3. yes. but read a little to be accustomed with it. for example, some radios are packaged differently. the telus radio will not hard reset your phone which is nice. so if you have your phone set up currently they way you want it and you flash the telus radio rom, it will not hard reset you so will not lose your setting or software installed. i really suggest you read the entire thread to learn about it and what people have experienced through the process. It seems like a lot and frankly I was a little worried about doing it, but in the end once you gain a comfort level you will do it properly. the telus radio and the sprint tp radio are recommended by many in this forum over the stock sprint radio. good luck.
