Confirmed - device did NOT hard reset. All my apps, etc remained as they were.

I'm on Telus and I wish I stayed with .99, 1.05 seems to heat up my phone much more than before. Is their anyway to go back?

I just reflashed back with the vzw raido and it worked fine. I also was having serious heat issues right before going back. And the batt life not being as good. I think the heat issue really isnt radio or rom related I think its where your service quality is. I noticed at 1 bar talking on the phone would be so hot if i pressed the d pad against my face it was too hot to handel it. With the vzw rom i just went back too i did the same thing sat in my server room crouched behind the rack with all my servers in it I had one bar. Sat and called somone and it got hot as well.

I called htc and they did confirm that when the signal drops below 2 bars the phone will increase the signal as much as possible. this is why batt life suffers and the phone gets hot. Now if you read all the posts regarding batt issues and heat issues thousands of people are having mixed results. Which would clearly indicate that phones are pretty random which would mean some peoples phones are increasing the signal and other arent. This would explain the many reason people are having mixed results.

I also noticed when the phone is hot it has some auto feature where it disables the charging of the phone until it cools down.

Just curious, are those people who are reporting great things.....are they reporting better battery life; better signal strength; less heat dissipation on the back of their phone; or all of the above?

as do I. Huge improvements.

I've got a friend who has a Diamond as well, completely stock (first ROM and Radio release). We've tested side by side with the exact same settings and mine gets at least 12 hours more time just sitting there on standby with pushmail and one regular mail account checking every 2 hours.

He'll be moving over to a custom ROM soon or Trading it in. He's still deciding whether he likes it or not...

but anyway, yeah.. I just don't get how mixed the reports are, especially with Telus users...

I agree that the new telus radio is better than the stock diamond radios. I have found that I am getting about the same performance with the Sprint TP variety and the new Telus radio. Occasionally I have found the Telus version to take a little more time to bring up web sites (takes longer to connect in my case) but I think it depends on so many factors. Overall the Telus was great especially with heat issues and extended battery life.

Re: [DEC 5th New Telus Radio V1.04.05V] Official CDMA Diamond Radio Thread

I just got home from the Sprint store. TEP kicked in and my third Touch was replaced by a Diamond. I am hoping this phone will be a bit more reliable.

I see a thread over at XDA:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=432770

Lots of radio's in the 1.08 & 1.09 listed for Diamonds and Raphael's but are these radios for GSM devices as opposed to CDMA? They are all listed as quad band, and I really don't know what that means.

Best regards,
-boggsie
