Is it possible to flash to a different radio while using a stock rom? I've done a number of tweaks with my stock Sprint rom and am pretty happy with it. I think the only thing hurting my battery life now is the crappy stock radio
Ok. Now before i answer, please remember if you brick your device, i am not responsible...
Yes it is possible, but you must first run the unlocker and make sure you got your device unlocked successfully !!!

Re: [DEC 5th New Telus Radio V1.04.05V] Official CDMA Diamond Radio Thread

I am a Sprinter, previously using the VZW radio... just flashed to the new Telus radio. Flash went well... very brief, initial impression is that there may be slightly more fluctuation in bars than with the VZW (not that bars mean much to me... I can have a couple bars and reception is great), however, I will post more complete observations tomorrow.

*edit* bars already seem more stable after an additional soft reset.

*edit* GPS lock is very quick and accurate, even inside my house.

Re: [DEC 5th New Telus Radio V1.04.05V] Official CDMA Diamond Radio Thread

I've been using the latest Telus radio for a few days.
It seems I've gained a bar or two.
But I'm most pleased at the fact that my phone doesn't feel like it could fry an egg while in heavy net use.

Re: [DEC 5th New Telus Radio V1.04.05V] Official CDMA Diamond Radio Thread

I've finally decided to take the plunge (esp since the newer radio ROMs don't require a hard reset - that's what sold me). I have upgraded from Sprint 1.00.00F to the new Telus 1.04.05V version. I will test today near home (where I normally get full reception) and tomorrow at work (where I normally get 1-2 bars at most). Thanks Juggalo X!

Re: [DEC 5th New Telus Radio V1.04.05V] Official CDMA Diamond Radio Thread

WOW! This thing gives MUCH better battery life for us who live in fringe areas where most of the time signal is just one bar. I'm getting 2-3 bars in my room now where I used to only sometimes get to 2 bars and I took it out of the charger last night at 9pm, went out, hung out, lots of texting and some browsing, like 10 short calls got home drunk and didn't plug it in woke up right now 1pm and its at 86%!! Impressive!

Seems to be running WAY cooler than with the VZW radio, which was better than stock itself.

This is a new Radio, which is why it's posted as such. It also does not effect the gpsOne in any way... well, I ran the full shipped ROM and it didn't change my settings.

Re: [DEC 5th New Telus Radio V1.04.05V] Official CDMA Diamond Radio Thread

new telus radio is nice.

Went from 1 to 3 bars in my basement and evdo was always dodgy in my basement. So far hold an evdo signal without dropping to 1x. Also data is much more responsive in my basement, updated wether info in 3 seconds.

I was using the verizon radio and phone got barely warm. Cant tell a diff as far as heat goes with this telus radio. Batt life seems to be the same as with the vzw radio.

Oh ya as all new radios no need to hard reset the phone updated with no problems loosing anything.

Re: [DEC 5th New Telus Radio V1.04.05V] Official CDMA Diamond Radio Thread

EVDO speeds in my area have always been poor, but I am noticing that they may have, as much as, doubled with the new Telus radio.
