Re: * UPDATED * [10/12/2008] JUICY ROM 2.5 [Full CE OS 5.2.20755][TELUS][Sprint]

My push email is not coming through properly right now either. I am also using Mail2web and figured it was a problem with their servers as it has only been happening the last 2 days.

It could very well be but I have tried mobipush which uses active sync and thats not working correctly either. It's horendously slow and or doesn't function at all. I am now trying to use Funambol which does not use active sync but does still use the data connection. Something is not right and it could very well be coincidence but it's starting to look more like it's either the phones or the roms.

I am going to flash to the stock Sprint rom and try it out for a few days and see if the problems go away.

Re: * UPDATED * [10/12/2008] JUICY ROM 2.5 [Full CE OS 5.2.20755][TELUS][Sprint]

New problem.
I had problems with pic messaging not working on my phone. called sprint and after them trying to fix the problem they made it worse and I had no data connection at all. Was getting ERROR 67 code I think it was. I spoke to tech support to resolve this and they had me do some steps and last step is to go to Start>settings>system tab> and click an icon called System Update or something like that however it has been removed on this rom it seems. Can someone offer me some much needed help about what I should do now?

Re: * UPDATED * [10/12/2008] JUICY ROM 2.5 [Full CE OS 5.2.20755][TELUS][Sprint]

For the guys who mention ActiveSync problems in response to my open-disclosure, yes for me it seems this is happening for the first time and on 2.5.

Obviously all my issues mentioned have to do with data, so looks like data needs to be working fine for all these issues to resolve.

And as mikew220 (or whatever username he has) said, it does work after long long hours, like 10-12 hours on its own. So for example, it doesn't work for 10 hours and then suddenly I have an onslaught of emails.

On another note, I have to ask a question that might be dumb...

I know that picture mail doesn't work when you have your phone connected to the PC but what I am wanting to know is if you should be losing data connection when you plug into the PC?

Reason I ask is recently I have noticed i am having issues with all sorts of data connection specific things like Opera/Internet explorer, funambol and so on. I open Opera up and teh connection times out like there is no data connection. The icon shows the usual cell reception icon instead of the data icon but EV is showing. The after failing I try doing a weather update and that fails saying there is no connection. Then I go to something like Live Search or Google Maps and the cell reception icon turns to a data icon and now Opera works again...

I honeslty do not remember this ever happening this way. This has been very obvious as of today. In Comm Manager I find the data connection set to off alot and sometimes I can not manually turn it back on unless I am unpluged from teh PC.

is this normal behavior?
I think its a ROM issue. Ive never had a problem with this with my other 6.1 devices.

(its matthew

I know there is an issue with mail2web right now as several people have reported but I don't necessarily think that is the real issue here. I think it has to do with the data connection not kicking on or coming on sporadically, but I can't figure out the cause or the cure.

I've been online troubleshooting why my push email wasn't working, guess I should have checked here sooner. I see a lot of mail2web users having issues, it's not just that service, I use sherweb and im having the same issue.

I have to manually sync every once in a while and it dumps like 5 emails on me. It's definitelya problem with the rom because if I add a contact it never initiates a sync.

other than that everything is awesome, thanks Juicy!!

I haven't ignored the feedback guys. Working on resolving the issue if it is in fact attributed to my ROM.

Hopefully it'll be gone in 2.6
