Re: * UPDATED * [10/12/2008] JUICY ROM 2.5 [Full CE OS 5.2.20755][TELUS][Sprint]

Juicy,
I love your roms. this one is so fast and nice. Was able to put back in the sprint apps lost and added the sprint tf3d theme. This rom as increased performance alot. I cant say much has changed with the battery though. I took it off the charger at 5:30am and took 3 callls totalling maybe 30 mins. recieved 10 or so e-mails wrote 3-4 e-mails. and im down 2 bars. and I ve had great signal the whole time.
Any way to get this cut into a kitchen base? I have some Apps I only have in OEM form and want to incorporate into the system. one is a program called battery monitor. I like the way the battery icon looks in it and I love the way it has a digital numacical readout for the amouth of battery left. easier to see. also have a few others. if you could provide your kitchen or base I would be forever in your debt.

Opera is a battery hog if it is running in the background. I can run for hours on little battery with the regedit Juicy posted. Just make sure to really close Opera.

Re: * UPDATED * [10/12/2008] JUICY ROM 2.5 [Full CE OS 5.2.20755][TELUS][Sprint]

A happy thanksgiving to my fellow Canucks!

I've been keeping up with Juicy's ROMs ever since day 1, but pretty much been lurking in the shadows... So I just (finally) want to say THANK YOU for all of the effort put into these ROMS!! They are fantastic and I know you do it all on your free time, so Kudos to ya.

I do have one thing to report though:

when I went back home for thanksgiving to a more rural area (Barrie, for you Ontarians) I noticed that i had MUCH worse reception than in Toronto, an urban area(..duh) However, I left my phone on in Barrie, standby with no apps open, woke up after 7ish hours, and it was quite dead. I leave it on in T.O. where there's a strong signal, and it can last maybe 36ish hours on the same charge.

Now i believe this has been said before, but i think my battery was killed because my phone was constantly looking for a signal, and constantly jumping from EVDO to 1X, in a weak signal area.

Bottom line is, People in rural areas, if you're having a battery problem with 2.5, is not because of Juicy's ROM.

So, I'm thinking that perhaps an upgraded radio would help?

...Oh and as someone who has read every post in the original thread, this one, and the XDA one, I have a few comments:

1- Don't ask questions that have already been asked 15 times before!!!
SERIOUSLY!!! i dont like reading "where did the task manager go?" or "where can I get the sprint TF3D files", or "is this safe to flash? im scared " 100 times.
Do a search for god's sake.

2- Sprint guys... I know it's not all of you, but come on. Maybe its just 'cause I'm Canadian and am used to good manners, but you guys are coming off as very impatient, and sometimes rude. Juicy's doing all that he can for you, so learn some patience and say thanks. (sorry to the repsectable Sprint guys, you know who you are)

Thanks all!

Re: * UPDATED * [10/12/2008] JUICY ROM 2.5 [Full CE OS 5.2.20755][TELUS][Sprint]

Well, I am one of the Sprint guys and have been following this thread since I got my Diamond about a week ago (even before that while i was anticipating getting the Diamond). I am very grateful for what Juicy has done. I didn't even run the stock ROM for more than five minutes. First thing i did after activation was flash the 2.4 ROM and have never looked back. Everything is pefect. I did flash the 2.5 ROM this morning (thanks again Juicy!) and restored my latest backup and everything went perfectly.

The battery issue seems to be inherent with the radio and phone and Juicy's ROM at least makes it very tolerable!

So, not all Sprint guys are impatient. I look forward to everything in store for this ROM and will contibute anyway I can.

So far, no issues with 2.5. Thanks again!

To flash the new ROM (2.5), do I unlock and flash it or just flash it over what I have (2.4.1)?

Thanks!!

Gah! Missed 2.5 due to new thread... Thankfully not by much... Love Juicy ROMs on my Sprint Diamond. For those missing the Sprint Software, this clearly does not suit your needs to go find something else or continue using stock.. Stop sounding like a bunch or *etards... You are making us all look bad...
