Re: [ROM] [MAY.04.09] MightyROM 4/R3BORN

This may be a bit early to ask but does anyone know of some manilas and t3fd tweaks and customizations that actually work with this Rom. Does the tweaks and color changes that mighty and rico made for the Touch Pro rom 5 work with this rom?

Yes they do. I have used 2 different ones.

I'm using iGo 8.3 for navigation, and I just flashed the new mightyrom to my diamond. Before flashing, I could go into my contacts and hit "menu", "navigate" for anyone with an address and it would open iGo with that address as the destination. After flashing this new rom, the "navigate" button in the contacts menu is missing. Anyone know how to add it in, or why it's missing now?
Is it something to do with the new finger friendly menu system?

When I open up my contacts and go to menu, while on a contact with an address you can press "drive to" and navigation should open.

6.5 takes a lot of prepping up to do even after it's released.

Some ongoing issues with 6.5 such as the htc dialer and 6.5 hating each other, alarms not working properly, ringtone bugs sometimes, etc.

Why am i going to release something like this when I can barely track down this **** for my touch pro rom? It makes absolutely no sense to me.

I am trying to clean up r3born for you guys to have a final 6.1 build, although without a ringtone resolution, i am stumped.

6.5 is great for someone who has countless hours to spend on it. Aka someone who actually owns a diamond.

Take juicy for example. Yay he came out with a 6.5 release, it has some hiccups here and there. Lets see how great he goes about fixing all that stuff. It's TOUGH!

I agree with you Mike. If you release a 6.5 for the diamond this thread might turn into a disaster like Juicy's has. Without one to even test on all hell will break loose with people complaining about everything. I'd say stick to 6.1 for now.

As far as the ringtone bug. Has anyone that installed this - http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showpost.p...postcount=8019 - Had the bug come back? If not, Id see whats in this cab and add it to the R3BORN.2.

I really dont understand the post with that "fix" cab, because the person stated the following...

"BUT WHEN YOU INSTALL THIS CAB ONLY .WAV RINGTONES WILL WORK"

The core ringer problem that the majority of people have encountered does not affect .wav ringtones, so saying that the cab fix works only for .wav ringtones is really not saying anything at all.

I just took a look at it and it changes the sound categories/ringtone0 registry also has a bunch of .wav stuff. It doesnt address the wma problem.

Mike,
From what I've read , that cab does not fix what I consider the bigger ringtone problem (that the device should play WMAs, MP3s or WAVs--take your pick just like the Vogue) That cab works only if the user converts all their rings to WAVs which are 5MB for a 30 second ring; taking up a lot of space unneccesarily. I don't even have enough room to move a couple of WMAs into the device storage anymore. I have every program installed to internal memory. Now I have to reset my phone everyday just to make sure it rings.
Is that the ringtone bug everyone is talking about? I knew from the start that yours as well as many other ROMs needed the WAV conversion to work. I flashed the Shipped ROM and all my MP3s worked again.

I think my ringtone problem might be solved. I converted it to a .wav and have been doing something else I noticed might have caused problems.

Before, I was turning off bluetooth BEFORE turning off my headset. Now I am careful to disconnect my headset before bluetooth is turned off. Anyone else think this might be their problem? It's been 3 days so I will keep you updated.
