yes, flash a wwe(english) rom that is gsm. there are plenty to choose from over at xda. I know this because I used to have a gsm device (htc hermes) and mistakenly flashed a german rom. Luckily I knew the screens well enough to get out of that mess:)

Hey Pixel, since you guys are talking browsers, just wanted to let you know they updated opera again. it's over on the PPC Software forum, version 15613. I loaded it up over the another version and have to say it's an improvement. rendering speed is better for sure. i loaded up forum.ppcgeeks.com in under 8 seconds, espn.go.com in 30 seconds. i noticed a definitely speed boost. check it out.

Thanks for the answer. Is there anything that I can do then to make the ROM more Alltel specific or should I be fine? I got MMS to work.

ESPN in 30 seconds?? You are obviously younger than me if you can wait 30 seconds for a page to load...LOL. Are you using wi-fi or data connection?

But I will definitely load up the new version...thanks!

PS - Either I or Konfuzion will report back on what he finds.

Check your PM....I also get the correct page using desktop IE7, in addition to the PPC versions of IE and Opera...hmmmm.

Edit: OK, mystery solved...I think. Apparently, Skyfire and Firefox do not (at least sometimes) interpret HTML comments correctly. The HTML line in the home page of that website that displays the old data is:

<!-- <h3 align="center"><img src="dse.JPG" width="657" height="172" /><br /></h3> -->

On some broswers (IE7, PIE, Opera) this line is correctly seen as a comment and the dse.jpg graphic is not displayed. However, in Firefox and Skyfire, the <!-- is not interpreted as a comment and the dse.jpg graphic is displayed. This is probably not the right forum for this discussion, so let's consider this one closed.

Hey, all.. not sure where I should be posting this, maybe thought it was Mighty-specific. I was wondering how to set the home page default to the screen that is like... a dark gray background with HTC logo on it, and underneath a search bar, that if entered and pressed enter, it would do a full google search. It meant that with the new opera build up, that I compressed, it starts in under a second on a cold start :), but then I end up having to wait for google to load up before I can properly enter in the site that I actually want to go to. This was present in Juicy's ROM, and was quite convenient... Thanks in advance...

EDIT: For now, I have it user-defined as "about:blank" which just starts up to a blank white page... no longer need to wait for google :)
