Re: [UPDATED 9/26/08] v1.3 WDM's 2D Diamond ROM

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Keep the volume control as it is. Works fine for what I need.

Actually, correct me if I am wrong, but my understanding is that by having MORE RAM, you actually want LESS pagepool....

There are even cooks using 0 PP's for the diamond already. My current cooked ROM is running a PP of 4MB, and its noticebly faster to me than a 16 or 32 mb PP.

Re: [UPDATED 9/26/08] v1.3 WDM's 2D Diamond ROM

WDM,

Leave it as it is, period.

Right now its a stable, fast, clear and STABLE ROM (yes repeated) for users to use

Volume not loud enough from the earpiece? Really? fork over a couple bucks for a BT headset or a earphone and try it - still not loud enough then, spend a couple bucks at the eardoctor removing wax or checking on your hearing levels, Im turning mine down a tad for comfort and clarity and cant imagine people wanting it louder check the environment or your ears.

yeah there are minor issues that users flashing a custom ROM should either be able to fix themselves or look around for fixes IF they exist THEN ask once (it will be answered eventually and like any question asked remember you may or may not like the answer LOL) - Manila/Touchflo is a ripped user interface from a wholly different phone ripped and made into a UI app for our phones and being a few weeks old on our devices there are constant improvements and upgrades to style, stability, speed and tweaks - BE PATIENT, its not perfect today but damn close and what you seek today may not be possible if ever but then it may be in time with newer fix releases from those working diligently day and night on it.

I for one have almost all of the touch users in my office on this ROM from WDM and I make sure that one of the autoinstall apps/settings is a direct link to this thread and they are encouraged heavily to give to him if they like this interface and ROM to show an appreciation for a ROM like this as I didnt cook it - just delivered it.

Ive tested ALL of the manila/touchflo ROMS available lately (believe me, my wife is starting to hate this and the XDA sites as other sites as well) . Want to know what that personally involves? how about flashing and reflashing my phone upwards to 50 times a weekend (not to mention through the week), reloading all data, settings and apps, reboots and benchmarking, noting all the pluses and minuses and then determining if the minuses are a Chef's fault or the issues inherant in a BETA USER INTERFACE, communicating with various Chefs, browsing and searching for info, fixes and the like and migrating them into the ROM and seeing if it does indeed fix anything or not and like any of the Chef's here and elsewhere as the hobbiests like myself I do this for free and for the pleasure of doing this to see innovation and the best available in this fantastic technology, Ive written up some very detailed reviews of ROMs I personally enjoy and use regulary not because I like to type, but to help the people out there wondering if this ROM or that ROM is something they can use and enjoy rather than the comments from people "I love it" or " I hate it" as when I joined last year the main thing stopping me from flashing was the lack of detail about the ROM itself - apps installed, PP settings, a couple screenshots are good, but no descriptions no testimonials, no trial and error information to inform people first of pluses and minuses they will encounter

I really love this ROM and think its going fantastic and WDM and his co-horts in cooking this up and ROMS like this are doing a great job but people really, give him some time and stop blasting about the same thing over and over its been answered to death already - be patient should become the standard auto-answer any more LOL.

now, the information contained therin may have a varible worth in your country or state, your milage may vary and never ever EVER taunt "happy fun ball" if "happy fun ball" begins to smolder leave the vacinity immediately and contact the authorities. ROMS are not for human consumption and if ingested follow immediately with used kitty litter and cheap beer.

LOL

Other than that the rom is great.

WDM. Fantastic work! One major issue for me on my Sprint touch with v1.2 was data connection stayed constantly on transferring although not quite sure what data it transferred and active sync no mater how many times I killed it kept reopening itself. Will new rom fix these?

ive have had a similar issue in every Manila/Touchflo ROM so far also I have found that editing the background graphic to reduce its size and not its quality has eliminated the issue in my phone so far. Not saying its a correct fix but even on V1.3 on initial install it was OK, after reboot and another reboot it occurred over and over so I disabled Touchflo, copied over a smaller file named HH_FW_Background.png and re-enabled TF and the whole interface is faster as well as after reboot after reboot there is no longer the memory issue

If you want WDM - send me the original and I will reduce it and you can test it and verify this and include this in your next ROM to determine if it is the UI graphics and look causing issues, if nothing else less file size will definatly open up more memory regardless

You know...I think I did fix it, cause I cannot duplicate that error at all anymore on v1.4 (When I post it, see if you can)
