Re: [09/22/08] Juicy ROM 2.1 [TELUS & SPRINT]

I was also having horrible battery drain yesterday. My battery was on charge until Noon and by 7 PM it was at 20%.

Last night, I disabled Location Setting, Light Sensor, and changed the reg key for the planner cache (don't remember exactly where it is right now) from 600 to 60.

Today my battery has been off the charger since 7:30 AM. It is not almost 6 hours later and I am still at 70%, even after making several phone calls.

I think our problem lies in one of those three items.

its the planner change it terminates idol Data connections after 60 sec. rather then 1H

data is the biggest pig on this phone.

Sounds like we need a new Radio rom if that's the case and we are trying pointlessly to fix something we probably can't fix.

very possible

could also explain why Sprint users are seeing worse drain then telus.

we have a different radio version.

but i KNOW its data thats eating the battery. no other possibility. and getting battery discharge readings from others proves it. we get the worst discharge rate on data

My Diamond really does not a preist. After downgrading back to J2.0, the GPS still would not work. Had to reflash stock Telus ROM and relock. Peice of S**T, now it works. WTF, I'm bring it back for a swap unit.

Re: [09/22/08] Juicy ROM 2.1 [TELUS & SPRINT]

Here is my take so far with 2.1:

Awesomness:
-Very Fast, quick boot, smooth TF3D

Problemos:
-Bluetooth (with Jawbone) won't pair not matter what settings or reg changes I make
-Mail app locks and I have to reboot
-Phone has been really bad: droppped calls, people can't hear me speak

I am not sure if it is just me, but this version hates me. I will wait to do another review

Re: [09/22/08] Juicy ROM 2.1 [TELUS & SPRINT]

Seems that we are only hearing from sprint users, my report on the Telus 2.1 rom.

Been running it since it was released, increased page size to 32mb, the only thing I changed.
Battery life is excellent, signal is still fluctuating but more stable then before youtube is streaming great and orb is streaming without a problem with IE. TF3D is very fast and responsive, touch screen seems to be perfectly responsive. Phone calls are clear and have had no dropped calls.

Data speed tests 1587kbits/sec 0.128s latency at dslreports mobile test. Excellent!!!

Bugs
Orb streaming links in opera open's second tab instead of opening media player.
can't type in landscape, keyboard disappears and msg min.

The only bugs that I noticed.
Great work guys.

Re: [09/22/08] Juicy ROM 2.1 [TELUS & SPRINT]

Installed 2.1 ROM and set my page pool to 16mb. Everything is faster.

However, in my email I cannot access my keyboard so I cannot type. Keyboard is missing. Anyone have this issue as well?
