Re: [09/22/08] Juicy ROM 2.1 [TELUS & SPRINT]

To all,

Batteries from asia vary drastically. A dozen "identical" batteries for a device will perform completely different from each other. The tolerence range can be as high as 20% !

The work that Juicy and others have been doing to try and resolve the battery issue is commendable, considering they don't have a controlled sample.

I would even be suspicious of any differences between the Telus and Sprint version of the HTC Diamond. Both vendors have various packaged feature options to choose from when they order the unit for their mobility carrier. And battery type are one of these options.

What works for Telus then, can very well not by as efficient for Sprint. Unless Juicy has a device from both carriers, this battery issue will most likely be on going.

The other way I look at it is that these phones are not meant to be like my old crappy Kyocera with a simple LCD crystal display the size of a my thumb. They are used differently, and as such drain more power then most anything else. One day of full usage is most likely the design spec. limit. A few days with very little usage and the screen mostly off.

I must accept that and always be ready for charging it at the end of the day.

End of the day!!?? I'm still running Sprint's ROM and I can barely make it through 5 hours of minimal usage before nearly running out.

With that in mind, am I able to shut off the light sensor with Sprint's ROM? I want to try that first - then I plan to flash Juicy's ROM this weekend for comparison.

Re: [09/22/08] Juicy ROM 2.1 [TELUS & SPRINT]

I am also experiencing increased battery drain on the Telus 2.1 Rom.
I will also attempt to disable the light sensor to see if that makes any difference.

@eduardmc
As for the startup sound just install Advanced Config 3.2 for the Diamond from Schap... you can change both the startup sound as well as the startup gif animation. If I recall correctly setting the sound to no file causes a beep at startup... so find a wav file with no sound if you don't want to hear anything.

im sorry you don't like the start up and the image. but this rom is designed to be brand generic. so adding or subtracting stuff like this is up to you if you dont liek our base good thing is it dont affect the functionality ofthe device

Re: [09/22/08] Juicy ROM 2.1 [TELUS & SPRINT]

Just wanted to report back on the light sensor and battery issue.

I shut off my light sensor last night and still lost 10% of my battery overnight with the screen off.

i've just got rid of the % battery meter - it was causing some serious paranoia.
