If i end up staying hoome tonight, i'll give 1.05 a whirl, all i wanna know Juicy is, have you changed anything which could've caused a problem with m.exchange adn the lockkeypad?

I know its not an easy option to fix if you don't have first and experience with the issue as i am having, but if you haven't changed anything which you THINK could've caused the problem, then i don't know if i wanna take the risk again of going through all that setup :(

let me know please :)

If you use PIMBackup, it shouldn't be a hassle at all ... just store the backup file onto "Internal Storage". I can't say for sure if I fixed it, but I have used a different version of the Enterprise package, than the one that gave you a problem.

Let me know the result.

Umm... It seems that when I go to the weather tab and select update, it automaticall turns ON my 'Data Connection'.

How do I disable that? I only want my Data Connection turned ON when I manually do it. Not automatically.

Mainly because my plan doesn't have data on it.

weather tab> right softkey "menu" > settings > uncheck download weather automatically

Re: [09/06/08] JUICY ROM v1.05

The correct behaviour should be:

- do not turn ON data connection
- if no active connection found (cell data or WiFi), display warning. (this is how the original ROM works).

That's true, but I have the unlimited data for $15/mo on, as many others and have disabled the warning/notice on purpose as it is a bit annoying.

I believe you can install a "no data" .cab file that is floating around on this forum or xda and solve the problem. Or you can just get the unlimited data option :D

question, how does PIM backup work? i tried installing through dotfred on my diamond, but it doesn't install it self as a program in my program list, although the pim bacxkup screen prorgam appears and i'm able to use it when i first install, after that i can't find the program to restore again

umm what do you expect when you click update? it to make up the information? i needs a connection and if you have no current connection (wifi, Active sync or data connection) it automatically initiates the default connection which is the data package.

i dont see how ur complaining about this, you clicked the update button and initiated the data connection.

I can't speak for the .cab install. I have done a custom OEM that relocates the PIMBackup shortcut to the Settings menu.

It is self explanatory from there.

Re: [09/06/08] JUICY ROM v1.05

Juggalo_X,

I don't want it to initiate a connection unless I give it one. And that is by giving it WiFi or manually turning ON the cell data connection.

Otherwise, it shouldn't be doing things behind my back that I don't want it. What's the point then of having the feature to turn OFF the cell Data Connection, if it's going to just turn it ON all by itself again.

NO means NO.

again i quote you

when you click update it connects its doing exactly what its designed to do. don't click update. and it wont connect. if you have a wifi connection it will use that instead if you have an activesync connection it will attempt to use that to update but if you have neither it will ALWAYS dial you data plan if you select update.

you can always set your data plan to disconnect after 1min of inactivity anyways.

and lastly. my weather tab NEVER connects to update unless its updating like its scheduled to do once a day or i click update.

the only way to stop this auto connect is to tell it to not update automatically under settings. with the amount of data it actually pushes and pulls (mere bytes) its not a big deal. also your not charged for dormant data connections only when an xfer of data is made.

Anyway, the nodata.cab Juicy recommended seems like it did the job.

I'll keep hacking around the phone today to see if anything else pops up. But I must admit, it is snappier.

Good job guys! :)

Good to hear you found a solution to the data connection issue.

you must have no data plan i assume.

i have been running the new rom for about an hour. i agree, it feels faster and more responsive. The GPS locked on really fast and I got a ton of satelites. so far, i haven't had any problems or seen anything that needs to be changed up, but ill get back to you :)

just curious, it sounds like u have no data plan/dont want to use data... how do you get your weather to update?

perhaps i'm just thinking outloud, but only thing i can think of thru a computer, maybe?
maybe that's why you want the hack, so you can hit 'update' w/ no worry of data fee's
but hey whatever works for you, right? :D

that you can assign a button (i.e. long press of the send key) to rotate the screen. With that said it seems to be working intermittently. I will ensure it works in the next version.

Sorry about that.

I just caught this bug. I didnt notice it infact i forgot to check this function, as i was messing with the button assignment trying to get a screen shot program to work. sorry for the miss :(

on a side note. SPB screen shot does allow you to assign a hardware button The Call button (long Press) allows u to select it from the "SPB ScreenShot - Capture "

Correct. I have no data plan. Using the web sparingly is not worth it right now. If I discover my need for it in the future is a *must*, then I'll pay for it. So for now, either an ActiveSync connection, or more commonly, a WiFi connection will provide me updates to my weather when I want it.

By the way, I found a bug within the Opera browser. When you rotate the diamond to go into Landscape mode while viewing any page in Opera, the thing crashes, goes back to Portrait mode, and brings up the Phone interface as if it thought you wanted to call someone.

This is quite annoying, and have no idea what is causing it. Anyone else?

Hey juicy I love your builds. All I hope for a feature is VOIP calls but still so far I have been able to use the gps only with your build and the system is globally much faster than on the stock rom!

Thanks alot for the hard work!

so i've installed the rom and its great but one thing i noticed is that my favorites tab settings did not come back (the part where you're able to flip through various friends pics) those didn't appear but when calling the numbers i tabbed as favorites the pictures display themselves. Where di my pictures go?

Nowhere. The pictures get attached to the contacts, you just need to re-add your favorites. Unfortunately PIMBackup doesn't store your favs in TF3D.

Yes this is a problem in EVERY build of Opera. Event the stock ROM. I have had the least number of crashes with my custom build based on Buil1938. It's not in the ROM buglist, because frankly it is not my fault, and I have no way to fix it, but wait for a new build of Opera.

UPDATE: I may have fixed it. lol
UPDATE: Yup, fixed

I think this build is the best yet!! It is running great on my diamond, pretty quick and so far I have not had any problem with it or any of the 3rd party aps I have installed.

Great job.

hey juicy, question. can you post a .cab for the live messenger program?

my friend has a diamond with telus, stock telus rom, same as me, and for the lift of her she can't connect to msn. We will be standing right beside eachother, and i can connect, she can't. She got beejive (jivetalk) and is able to connect without a hitch, so obviously the software is f00ked!

i want to flash her phone to your rom, but i'm waiting for you to come out with a semi-final release with no bugs so she doesn't kick my *** for having problems.

I thought for the time being i could try to reinstall her live messenger... i just can't seem to find a cab.

if anything, do u by chance have an updated version than what comes on the phone?

thanks so much :) u rock!

I'm currently using the same version as the Telus Stock ROM, so there wouldn't be a difference. I don't think she would be upset running 1.05 - there are no bugs present that aren't found in the stock ROM.

Just a question, but do any of you get a creaking sound when you press and hold the diamond in the bottom left corner? It's terribly annoying, and I'm trying to figure out if it is just mine.
