Re: How To's: Unlocking, Relocking, Flashing, Dumping and Troubleshooting

I really appreciate that you took the time to post these really clear step by step instructions. Today I unlocked a phone for the first time and flashed a ROM. It all worked great. Thanks to everyone here for all the helpful posts and instructions.

are you sure you are using the CDMA sprint unlocker on it? it should work, or it may still be unlocked, try flashing a ROM to see, if it IS still locked, hard reset and try the unlocker again.

Re: How To's: Unlocking, Relocking, Flashing, Dumping and Troubleshooting

Does anyone have another download link for the stock MTS rom file, I have tried downloading the one in the first post several times and it keeps timing out around 40% done.

Tried using IE and Opera to download it on my pc, with and without a download manager addon, speed seems to be the issue as it only gos at 20kb/s

I'm having the same issue with the Sprint Shipped RAR. Tried two computers / operating systems several times and the timeout always occurs at 49,504KB (around 46%). Any other link would be appreciated. Thanks.

Diamond Kitchen Questions

Im doing a lot of research and learning a lot. I make things a lot harder than they should be sometimes That's why I'm in the Diamond Upgrades section asking for your advice.

I'm working on starting to build ROM's. I've downloaded a few different kitchens but before I can move ahead I feel I need a clearer understanding and this is the best place to have my Diamond Kitchen questions answered.

What are the different types of kitchens?

In my readings I can only see things such as Diamond Kitchen and HTC Sense Kitchens.

Are these the only 2 types of kitchens? I want to know this so I can experiment with the different types. Please explain......

as far as i know, OMJ's kitchen (titled: htc sense kitchen) and most of the other ones that I've seen are based on Ervius kitchen (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=469420) and the other type of kitchen I've heard of is the Vistang kitchen (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=573778). I have recently started cooking my own ROMs so I dont really know what the advantages are of different kitchens but I can tell you for sure that you won't go wrong with using OMJ's kitchen (the latest is V2.0). I was in the same boat you are a few months ago and using OMJ's kitchen based on his guide was pretty straight forward. Give it a try and if you have any questions, people in OMJ's kitchen thread (or just anyone in general) will be more than happy to help out.

Re: Diamond Kitchen Questions

I thanked you for that and kindof figured OMJ's was the best seeing his all over the site. I needed answers to further my research and learning process. I'm sure I'll have more questions soon. Thanks again for answering!

So it looks like these are the names of the users who make the kitchens : Ervius and Vistang

I'm now wondering what the difference is still between the HTC Sense and these kitchens. I assume they don't use TF3D in theirs?

Anyone?
