I realize I might be getting annoying, but I had a thought....how about a previous ROM you've cooked that is Titanium-only but still has the Start button in the top left corner?
It seems you've made a ROM with 21895...but I can't spot a titanium-only version.

Might you have one?

Titanium/21895 was also listed in the previous posting I put up for you. Posting #413.

whoops, then I guess I meant to ask for the other 21xxx build since the one you posted on #413 is the one I downloaded and am having trouble with.
I guess I never looked at the number because I was assuming that titanium only ROM i downloaded was 21914.

so maybe I should ask, is there another titanium-only ROM with the Start button in the top left other than that one you posted a link for on 413?

Okay, I'm an idiot. It just occurred to me that the first ROM I used was 21914-2018....and then you posted the link to the titanium-only 21895. I first posted because of the D-pad issue I was having on the 21914 ROM.
Which means, the only hope I'd have is if there were a titanium-only ROM that had the Start button in the top left corner that was neither build 21895 or 21914....but I am pretty sure I already know the answer to that.

I have only built 6.5 (21895) and 6.5.5 (23541) Titanium roms. You are probably asking about 6.1 (21057), which I haven't built Titanium or Sense roms with. My guess, but admittedly I'm a horrible guesser, DPad functionality has very little to do with WinMo sys's, but rather packages and or tweaks that are incorporated into the Manila/Sense UI's.

In that regards, the newer HTCScroll, that I believe was not included in the original Diamond/Sprint Roms may be messing up the capability you are looking for. Can you verify, since you recently flashed back to shipped, that the original Sprint rom did not scroll?

I agree, it is unlikely that the different builds affect the D-Pad.

I can verify that when I flash to shipped or another custom ROM my D-Pad works as it was designed. But I am back on your 21895 Titanium ROM right now....living with the issue..I am surprised no one else has posted about this issue. It really causes trouble when I use the camera.

Update:

Still liking the rom, getting used to hitting menu reply for texts now. Overall snappy (although slow to load which i am ok with). If we ever got a fully compatible sense, this rom would be more than awesome...

(side note) any chance of bubble breaker being back in the ROM?

I definitely recommend changing the rss path to go to the internal storage instead of the main memory.... that way you can actually download podcasts. I also realized you have to be careful with rss hub while it is downloading... have had to kill the process several times from it locking up.

Thanks for your ROM, I really appreciate someone keeping things up to date for the Diamond. For me, it is still one of the best phones around because it fits in my pocket so well. I have used the ROM for a week and have had almost no issues.

I was suprised to see you listing my home town, Albuquerque as your home. I am jealous and want to return, maybe some day...

I do noticed D pad issues on my replacement phone about 3-4 moths ago.I was thinking that its phones follt...Actualy D pad works ok itself,touch and press does the job,so its no impact for camera.Just upper arrow is hard to push ...

yeah, actually, I've used the camera a little more and it does work okay....I think because of the touch sensitive feature that activates the focus mechanism.
If I am scrolling through emails with the D-Pad, pressing enter often does not actually open up an email......same applies to anything...like Titanium...pressing enter usually does nothing for me.

Up is definitely the more consistently failing button for me.
