Well, had a "flash party" last night with family and friends so everyone could get the latest and greatest, and they convinced me to only "suspend" this thread. Suspend here means I will not be posting updates with the frequency I had been, but I may on occasion post a new link.

I will be starting a new thread to meet the original intent of this one. That is, a Lt MaxSense ROM, to meet my commitment to Maxycy. That might be up today, but more likely Thursday or Friday.

Now, for a few responses to the above questions.

No, I haven't moved on to Android yet, although I fully expect to in the new year. I already qualify for an upgrade but have held off till the majority of my family and friends do.

No, I won't be releasing the kitchen anytime soon for various reasons including, it's still a mess and it has MaxSense embedded in it which I cannot release, other than in a ROM.

It was disappointing to see the response to my requests for feedback, for thanking Programatix for the work he's done, and hitting my thanks button. There were some 60 downloads of the latest 2018 roms, and as far as I could tell only 1 responded with a donation to Programatix, only 1 feedback about rss not working in 23129, only 3 hit my thanks button, and not a single posting on Programatix's thread from anyone I recognized verbally thanking him for his efforts.

At least all this made for some interesting anecdotal evidence for my daughter's thesis "On Web Psychology"!

I totally agree with WestCoastGhost - sometimes we need a kick.

I have been using the 23541 / 2018 ROM you posted, and I haven't noticed any issues with the RSS or anything else. To be honest I don't use RSS, but when I click on the 'Welcome to the news service' link on the home screen it does take me to a menu to add channels or use pre-configured ones. Aside from that the ROM is working perfectly - thanks for all your hard work cooking it!

As well, I did post a thanks to Programatix as you suggested. Unfortunately I can't donate at this time - living on short-term disability is a b$%ch - but maybe once I get back to 'regular' work I can do something.

Thanks again for keeping our phones alive, and I look forward to your next release, whenever you are ready to post it!

Thanks. Re: RSS. That is what it is supposed to do. Let it download some news for a new or existing channel. You might like it. Like I said, I understand the tough economic times we are in, but IMO just saying thanks goes a long way and costs nothing.

As for feedback I am noticing one problem with the 23541 sense 2018 rom. on the sense tabs the menus work fine at first but then they start not coming up all the way so part of the menu is cut off. Doing the flash dance again to see if it stops. Anyone else notice this problem? at the risk of sounding like a total newb what do you mean by updating the prl?

Just saw on XDA from a Cookie Beta Team member that CHT 1.8.5 does work with 2018. Specifically mkucuksari says, and I quote....

1-I can say that "CHT V1.8.5" will work with "Manila 2018", of course without "RSS Widget".
2-New version will bring too many new / fantastic features,including "RSS Widget", that you can not imagine. (Sorry can not give more details, hope you will understand the reason )


In regards to RSS, you could then get to it via a quick link/short cut. I don't think I put in an RSS shortcut, but it is as easy to do as putting any shortcut in say Windows 2000 or Windows 7. I'll put the links back up for the new 2018 ROMs for those interested.

I'm not seeing any sticking on 2018/23541, and I've been using it for close to a week now. Maybe it's something you've installed? Instead of reflashing, you might want to try a hard reset and ensure no sticking. Then, one by one, install each app you are use, testing for sticking. Tedious, but sometimes the only way.

Re: PRL. First a definition of PRL from wiki.

The Preferred Roaming List (PRL) is a database residing in a wireless (primarily CDMA) device, such as a cellphone, that contains information used during the system selection and acquisition process.

In the stock rom somewhere under the start menu (can't remember if in settings, system, etc) you will find an "update prl" shortcut. That's the easiest way.

The other way is more involved, but can be done anytime. You need to kow your MSL (directions for how to get can be found here at ppcgeeks), then you can use the PRL shortcut found in Start>>Settings>>Phone Codes, after ensuring the following registry key is set thusly.

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\DialParser]
"DLL-OEM"="PhoneCanvas.dll"

Got too far ahead of you. Did flash dance without updating PRL. Will try your suggestion about installing apps one by one. Have noticed it seems snappier and not sticking yet. will enable all sense data options and take my time with apps. Thanks for the feedback.

Have set up all data sync on tabs and setup my hotmail account for activesync since it is now supported. no apps installed yet but I did enable the stocks and twitter tabs. Sticky menus are back. Have disabled stocks data sync and disabled tab. If it continues will also disable twitter tab.
