Do a lot of people drop their contracts early to switch to another provider?

Reading throughout this forum, i've heard so much about switching providers before your contract is up. I need to do it myself, but how do people switch back and forth having to pay up to $200 per closed contract? Is this pretty common? If so, what are some tips/advice on switching/closing services early? Thanks!

Re: Do a lot of people drop their contracts early to switch to another provider?

I honestly would say that people that can afford to pay 349.99 after rebate for phones generally have money to pay there ETF for contract closings provided they dont have THAT many lines on the account. Also ETF varies from carrier to carrier i.e. Verizon Wireless normal 2 year contract ETF starts at 175 and gradually goes down 5 dollars a month. Meaning if you stay in contract for 10 months your ETF is now 125 instead of 175. As from what I can see you are a former Alltel customer so I would advise to read my thread http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread...36#post1210836 for further information.
