Verizon Questions

So my 4th xv6800 took a crap. All within the 90 days replacement period but my time was 45 days. I am eligible for a phone change. But I don't use data and don't want to pay Verizon minimum $30 for a plan. Is there anyone a rep and work around this problem for me? My only available choice would be a XV6900 and/or centro and I don't see that as an upgrade since it is just as old. Anyone have any suggestions?

Re: Verizon Questions

Verizon's new policy is that all new data phones come with a 30$ data plan, so you have to do that or not get a smartphone.

I am aware of the new policy. There has to be a way around it.

There is not. If you call them up to activate the device through them, (even if you buy it online) they will force a data plan on you. there is no option to have a permanent no 3g, etc.

It can not even be removed in the billing system. its now hard coded in the system.

Only way to get that removed is to directly re-write the system which no one on a customer/tech support level has access to.

Try going online into your myverizon site and choose add and remove features and it give you an option to remove your data plan on smartphones. I haven't tried it as I actually use my data, but let me know if it works. I'm real curious.

Data plan that works with my work outlook email

Verizon reps keep telling me a need to keep the $45 per month data plan on my Imagio to get coorporate email via outlook. My question is will the $30 smartphone data plan accomplish this or is the $45 pan a must?

I'm thinkg the Verizon reps are just telling me I need the $45 plan to make more money off of me. Is anybody getting coorporate email with the $30 dollor a month data package? The $30 option was around when I got my first smartphone with verizon.

thanks
