LG Incite

Ok, so I have an At&t LG Incite that is unlocked. I called Sprint and asked them to register the Incite so I can use that instead of my Blackberry Curve. They asked me for the DEC number on the back of the phone and I told her that there wasn't a DEC number, only an IMEI number and an S/N number as it is an AT&T phone. So she said that I can't use that phone as it is not a Sprint or a Nextel phone. Now I also read on the internet that Sprint will be adding the LG Incite to their list of phones to buy in a couple of days.

Now my question is this; if my LG Incite phone is unlocked, shouldn't it be available to use with any carrier? I mean, I know that a GSM phone is different from a CDMA phone and what have you, but isn't there a way so that I can use this Incite phone that I have?

No no no no...

AT&T and T-Mobile are GSM Carriers
Verizon and Sprint are CDMA

GSM and CDMA are two completely different phone signal mediums. CDMA devices rely on interal hardware to tell the network what device is active. GSM devices rely on SIM cards.

Besides, Sprint and Verizon are pretty firm in their stance to ONLY activate their phones on their network. You can't even take a Sprint phone to Verizon and Vice Versa.

(Ok...you could take the Sprint Touch Pro to Verizon for a short time...I know this)
