Sprint: Upgrading a phone online with SERO

I have a $150 rebate at sprint, and also just got by $150 deposit back...so I thought it was time for a new phone (the diamond). I was trying to upgrade through sprint.com/everythingplus as that's where I was referred to because I have a SERO plan...but after I've selected my phone, it says:

"You may need to change your plan
This price is after a mail-in rebate. To receive your rebate and maximize your phone's potential, you'll need to be on one of the following plans:

• Simply Everything® or Simply Everything Family
• Everything Data or Everything Data Family
• Business Essentials with Messaging and Data

See plan details

If you aren't already on one of the plans above, you'll need the following add-on:

• Pro Pack

You'll be able to change your plan or add-ons when you activate your phone."

Has anyone seen this before/been through it? I'm really not interested in adding the pro pack...whatever that is. But I want my rebate, because paying $300 for this phone would be ridiculous. Thanks in advance.

just call them and tell them that you wanna upgrade your phone and you'll be in your way to get your new phone without changing your plan at all cause i did the same on my sero plan so don't worry pal.

Re: Sprint: Upgrading a phone online with SERO

Didnt want to make a new thread so figured I would bump this one.
Can anyone else verify this?
my contract is about up on sero, and I wanted to upgrade. When I called in asking about the pre they said no. They also said this in the store.
I was wondering if anyone knows if they will do the upgrade to a touchpro with out changing the contract? Does anyone know if they will do this with the touchpro2? I was actually hoping to ge the touchpro2 and can wait. I just cant believe they will upgrade to this phone on the sero when they wouldnt do the pre.

Re: Sprint: Upgrading a phone online with SERO

I was one of the SERO buyers that bought the first crop of Touch Pros (Oct 0, and I had no issue of upgrading in the store. I simply told them I am eligible for my discounted upgrade and I wanted a new phone, NOT a new plan. I had to renew my contract, which was not as straight forward as it should have been (per the employee), but a simple call into Sprint and I was on my way.
