Asurion Madness

OK, Asurion keeps charging me for insurance claims that are apparently put onto my account (I live in Ohio, one phone was sent to California, the other to New York). I changed all my password info after the first one, and yet it happened again. I'm thinking it's some sort of an inside job. Has anyone else had this happen, and can I use it as a way to get out of my contract with Sprint?

Re: Asurion Madness

I manage a sprint store and i havent ever had that happen twice but its definitely fraud...so i would call this number....

1-888-788-0788

that is sprints fraud department. tell them what is going on they should credit you back all of your money and put some restrictions on your account.

As for getting out of your contract... i dont see that feasable and i dont see sprint doing that. i do see them possibly giving you an extra creit for all of your troubles though.

GOOD LUCK LET ME KNOW WHAT HAPPENED TO SOLVE THIS SITUATION.

Make use you have them credit any charges you've paid wrongfully & try to ask for some service perks for your troubles.

Re: Asurion Madness

Fortunately, I've caught it before I've actually paid the amounts (I have a spending limit on my account, so I can see it on the little meter). I'm betting that this is either some kind of inside job, or no one actually issues the challenges for my account.

!Update!Asurion Madness

Update!

Just spoke with a really good rep in the fraud department, and she told me that there seems to be a rash of claims going through Asurion, perhaps even an inside job. You guys all might want to keep an eye on your accounts.

They are going to get the $100 deductible back to me, and credit me an extra $100 for my trouble.

I must say it was nice to actually deal with someone who knows what customer service is.

Re: Asurion Madness

I had something similar happen to me and Sprint did not find that someone had added themselves to my account as an administrator. This is where I found them.

Log on to the Sprint.com site
Press Settings and passwords
Press Edit Online Profile
Press Account Administration Console

If you see more than one admin here, you should verify that they are correct. I had someone hack my account and add themselves here. They almost immediatly called and had my two phones submitted for insurance replacement. I also had them place a no web orders on my account for 6 months.

Re: Asurion Madness

this happen to me twice as well. they even traced both esn's to other customers sprint accounts but would get me the info so i couldnt hunt them down. it was a pain to stay on the phone and get transfered and put on hold and transfered again but they finally took care of it. then it happened again. what a pain though. must be an inside job. 500 bucks a pop vs being paid 15 bucks an hour. why not
