wow i had the option to do this 2 weeks ago but i would have been out of town when the package came so i decided to wait. and i missed my chance to get a TP! maby it would have gotten stolen sittin on my porch but i doubt it.... dman sprint what a tease

If you put in a zip code that's far from any Sprint stores, it'll offer to ship you a replacement phone like before. However, at least as of Sunday afternoon it was still just offering a refurbished 6800.

i was getting offered refurb 6800 until yesterday as well. now I get directed to a sprint store after entering in a ZIP code. Oh well.

I just tried it again, i used http://storelocator.sprint.com/SL2/Default.aspx to see all the sprint store locations and typed in something really far from me but still in my state. Still only refurbs

Sprint has refurbished from time to time. The bigger cities have the refurbished and other cities have the option to receive the new TP. Is all about where Sprint sees the most claims.

So what are the chances of me getting a TP if I take my mogule to a local sprint store with the following symptoms: Screen burn-in, unable to hot sync, wifi connection drops every few minutes (in my house) and I hate the fact that I have to press the end call button like 4 times to end a call.

In my recent experience, Sprint will tell you that they can replace the handset with another mogul (through their warehouse or Asurion insurance company) or they can repair it. Though it doesn't make sense, they may try to get you to buy a completely new phone for $300. For another option, they will tell you that you can call Account Services and see what they suggest.

If you have the same problems with the new handset, they may hard reset it for you and tell you that it's running quicker now. In my experience, they won't even address the unresponsiveness (after they hard reset your phone), though they will parrot back that you let them know about it.

one other option is to call it in to the Insurance and whne they send you another phone, tell them that the phone you just recived is bad allso and they are forced to send you a new phone ...since there is no new moguls anymore then they will need to send you one that is compared ..they will send you a TP....atleast that is the rules of the insurance ..

I just filed a claim through asurion for my 6700 and when I did it online it said i would be getting a touch pro and when i called to finish the claim she said that i would be getting a mogul.... which one is right?

I just got my replacement mogul from asurion and it has a white spot in the corner and in the middle of the screen is that a good enough reason to send it back?

Before i get flamed i want to exclude the people who had legit reasons for getting there moguls replaced and single out everyone who scammed asurion and sprint even when they knew there moguls were in decent working order. This is to you who broke your phone on purpose to get a TP and to those who just made up shyyt that they dont check for when they check out your phones THANK YOU ALL FOR MAKING THEM CHANGE THE TEP FROM $50 to $100.

Again i exclude all who had legit reason, but you know not everyone in this thread had even one. whoever tries to flame obviously they did the not so honest thing so let see who says what!!

I agree with you, f*ck those people, but this is not the reason they are increasing the price. The people that make up this site are only a fraction of Sprint users, albeit the smartest of the Sprint users, and the ones that are screwing the insurance company make up an even smaller percentage of total Sprint Users. It's all about inflation.

I was just amazed at how much upfront discussion of fraud was allowed in this thread. People literally asked if they should break their phone to claim a new Touch Pro. These people should have been banned from this site instantly. Anyone asking what reason to select, should have been banned, immediately. Frankly I don't care if you want to fraud sprint or asurion, thats your business. But to come out and ask the things you guys did shows such arrogance and stupidity, both things I thought were frowned upon on this site.

Here's my pain in the butt experience that ultimately led me to be a happy lad. I've had a Mogul for the past few years and have made many an I-phone user jeaslous with my hacks and fixes. I must admit that a few aspects of the I-phoney gave me cause for mild jealousy. Anyway...my mogul had an unfortunate meeting with a driveway as I was getting out of my car. It busted one of the hinges so I filed a claim with Asurion and sure enough after paying my fifty bux got a replacement mogul two days later. I wasn't mad...I liked my Mogul. I wasn't mad..until I activated and tried to use this refurbished garbage. The keyboard has at least 4 heys that take a million pounds of pressure to work. Internet explorer pops up every ten seconds or if you even remotely bump the phone. The jog wheel doesn't work at all! Sprint was zero help. I got angry with a chat rep. I called Asurion and explained what had happened and they offered a refurbed Mogul to which I said I'd really rather not have another experience like this. She said well we do have a comparable model...the touch pro that I could send you out tomorrow and she proceeded to verify my address. I said thanks a ton.."I guess that will have to do" and immediately hung up. I then emailed customer care and explained my experience and that I had paid fifty bux which was understandable and expected until I got the replacement. They shot an email back saying they just credited me 50 bux and voilla....I am now awaiting my new TP...excellent..I dare say excellent!...

Yeah, my message button fell off of my Mogul, so I called to get a replacement, they were out of Moguls, even refurbs, and offered me the touch pro. So I said ok, got a case and dock off ebay, and they ended up shipping me a refurbed mogul. So i called, asked why they said one thing and shipped another, they sent out a TP that day. I really would have been fine with the Mogul if I could have returned either accessories.

So let me understand your post..you are upset because you didnt get a TP swap??

Let me say this then you can judge me if you wish.. last year i bought all new phones ( was around end of March ) all 3 phones were Moguls..Brand new out of the box, from sprint ( because i dont beleave in buy phones on ebay ) so 1,500.00 later ( 456.00 each phone plus TAX ).. No biggy i got the money from IRS check so its all good ...me , my girl and my oldest daughter all have moguls...about September my phone starts accting up ( dropping calls and rebooting) so i called sprint ( ecare ) and they told me i should call the insurance co and put in a claim. I did and they sent me a refurb phone that the screen had 3 BIG white blotches on the screen...so i called and refused the phone. so they sent me a brand new one in the box.. by november ( yes 2 months later ) the new phone now also has huge white marks on the screen. So i call the insureance back and they said they cdould replace it again but because it was past the 30 days they would have to charge me again ( deductible ).. so by xmas i was fighting with sprint for 2 weeks, they had managers call me ..totally refusing to replace a phone that was bad in less then 2 months of use ...TIred and upset i came accross this post and called the insurance again ...After the offer of a treo 800 or a diamond ( i went with a Diamond ) and still paid the 50.00..now i do love my Diamond but some how i still feel that i was robbed because less then a year i had to go to a diffrent phone that is cheaper then the mogul was ...and yes i will do itg again when my other moguls start to act up ...why ? because it is in my right to do so ..i pay for insurance and it should be my right ...we are not talking about 100.00 phones we are talking about 500.00 phones ...

Them changing the detuctible to 100.00 should be looked at.. there should be a law that protects us from defect phones ...There should be a a 1 year full return policy or fixed/swapped at no charge ......Do you guys even have an understanding on how much the insurance company makes?? FU*K THEM....

No i am not mad i didnt get an exchange i didnt need one i traded my instinct for My touch pro on craigslist. you had legitamate reasons for getting yours swapped out my reason for posting was for the fraudulant people that blaitanly asked on this very site what they would most likly get away with for a free replacment or $50 through asurion. so my friend it wasnt aimed at you.

My points exactly Muyoso and Coolwhip too (ididnt forget about ya :thumbleft:). i couldnt have wrote it better myself. and i do understand about inflation and all that but im sure giving out all those free or close to free TP's helped in there decision to up the TEP.

Uh... I never used TEP, and paid my $55 to exchange my mogul for a TP via the website.

The bump in TEP has nothing to do with this little game. The bump in TEP was planned for over a year @ sprint.

The issue with TEP, as I understand it from insiders, is that people who have TEP on average exchange their phones 3-4 times a year. The bump is designed to encourage people to be a bit more careful, or if not to cover some of the costs for folks who exchange phones like underwear.

Now, me personally, I will not likely need a new phone for a couple years and will just buy the next one like I bought the others. Sprint gets nearly a thousand dollars a year off my service, and 3 handsets every couple years. I'm sure they're not losing money on me.

I did some what the same I had 2 moguls, one of them I cracked the screen and told them my screen is cracked, they sent me a TP and I sent them my cracked mogul.

I wonder if people have had different experiences depending on their status with Sprint as far as in contract, out of contract, etc. Because I'm out of contract and I just sent in my Mogul that had like 4 problems I had just been dealing with until it became too bothersome and got a refurbished one. I'm guessing if I have problems they will keep sending me refurbs because i'm out of contract, lol... I would like the Touch Pro but I'm not about to be trying to find any little problem and returning it begging or hoping for the TP. The Mogul is an awesome phone and this refurb works great, can't find anything wrong with it yet.

Just a question, once you guys got ur replacements did sprint charge an activation feed? I'm asking cause when I moved on up from an LG Muziq to a Mogule they tried to hit me up with the activation feed (long story short, it was my phone that I paid in full and not an upgrade or anything) when I swaped phones even after I did it my self online. That pissed me off on how they try to charge me $20 or $25 for something they didn't even lift a fingure for to do.

In the end they said in the future if I switch phones that they will charge me but at that time they were gonna let it slide.

3-4 times a year? I've had sprint for 4 years and have done two swaps...One was my fault when I took my Mogul for a swim. The next time was when the replacement they sent me decided to start acting funny.

they will always try to charge you. one rep tried to tell me i had to pay activation on a replacement. on a side note i see your post but you don't have a post count or am i going crazy!

hmm wonder is thats somethign new? i switched phones like crazy ...in the past 3 months i have changed phones online abotu 6 times ..never been charged ..infact did one 2 weeks ago ..i do have a SERO account so im not sure if that is diffrent

If you read this and are filing a claim right now to replace your mogul, could you please share with us if they are sending out Touch Pro's?? It would be greatly appreciated!!! THANKSS!!

An encouraging thread. I went to the sight and I'm being pointed to a repair center (close window)! My refurb #6 is only 31 days in use and, well, acts like all the other refurbs, not ever right.

So for the people who have been getting TP's from Asurion, are they refurbished? I bought my TP new and need to do an exchange because of issues, but don't really like the idea of getting a refurbished one back.
