i agree with what you're saying.all i'm saying is why can't sprint do something like this?even the instinct is available to other carriers now(under different names of course).

Re: Bad news for Sprint...

because sprint doesn't have any leverage. they have a pathetic number of subscribes (compared to Verizon) and they've been looking like they're going to go bust for quite a while now. I'm honestly very surprised they managed to land that deal with Palm.

I think Hesse should stop feeding his ego with all those commercials he has been doing the last few months. May save Sprint some $.

x2. maybe we should write him an email

it's ironic that a company on the verge of releasing new technology (wimax) does the commercials in black and white...

53 million subscribers. Hardly "pathetic". You do realize that most of VZWs subs came from them buying up smaller companies right?

53 million compared to verizon's what, 82? 85 million? Does it really matter how Verizon acquired their subscribers? All that matters to them is the number of people they can push service onto.

And besides, Virgin Mobile accounts for 5 million of Sprint's subscribers so how are they any different than Verizon?

Re: Bad news for Sprint...

Well in a sea of bad news for Sprint the last month or so actually has been pretty good for Sprint. First the Palm Pre and now the Boost $50 unlimited prepaid plan which begins on Jan. 22. The nice thing about this is that it uses the much-maligned Nextel network which had previously been a financial disaster for Sprint. Actually a very smart move by Sprint.

True, and with Sprint being the exclusive carrier of the Treo Pre. These are definitely stacking up as positives. Especially since the Nextel network is getting the revamp would should hopefully plug the money lose
