Re: Sprint 5GB internet cap

yea the OP skipped a line

Sprint is updating its Terms Of Service starting in mid-July and will be capping mobile broadband data usage at 5GB. Previously, Sprint offered truly unlimited mobile broadband. Once the new Terms Of Service go into effect, users who go over the 5GB cap, or a 300MB roaming cap, will be charged extra fees. ""This will apply to both network cards as well as tethering mobile phones to laptops."" AT&T Mobility and Verizon Wireless currently offer 5GB data plans, also.

Re: Sprint 5GB internet cap

For everyone talking about leaving with no ETF, I was under the impression that you could only use a change to the T&C as a way out of your contract if it effected the base plan, not optional add-ons live texting or data services. This loophole was closed after a bunch of people left when texts went from $.10 to $.15 each. Is this accurate?

if this is correct...I dont tether(pam) and I dont have a network card...so having unlimited vision on the mobile should still be ok.

Have to wait and see.

Re: Sprint 5GB internet cap

So they seriously expect someone to pay 59.99 a month for 5 GB?

Re: Sprint 5GB internet cap

Talk about timing, the Sprint commercial just came on... I think we should all email him... quoting:

"If you could change the way wireless companies did things, what would you do?

I'm Dan Hesse the new CEO of Sprint. Here's our idea, use your phone for all the great things it can do without worrying about the meter running. How's that for a wireless revolution. Pretty awesome huh?"

The Simply Everything Plan

Unlimited push-to-talk
Unlimited texting
Unlimited emailing
Unlimited GPS Navigation
Unlimited talking

Welcome to the Now Network. (tm)

Re: Sprint 5GB internet cap

Just sent "dan" the following.

Unlimited Everything Plan...or is it unlimited, but only up to 5GB?

"If you could change the way wireless companies did things, what would you do?"

Well. i would start with taking a look at this.

Sprint is updating its Terms Of Service starting in mid-July and will be capping mobile broadband data usage at 5GB. Previously, Sprint offered truly unlimited mobile broadband. Once the new Terms Of Service go into effect, users who go over the 5GB cap, or a 300MB roaming cap.

Interesting, no? It's also quite interesting considering the scheduled release dates of working MMS on some Windows Mobile phones....

I'm <inserted name here>, a new Customer of Sprint. Here's My idea, use My phone for all the great things it can do without worrying about the meter running. How's that for a wireless revolution. Pretty awesome huh?"

This is true. Now a bunch of people also got out when they closed the loophole because it was a change in the contract, but thats neither here nor there. The only way you could get out is if the vision services were included in your plan as part of the base price. If you pay $10-15 more a month to have vision you won't evade the etf. If, however, you pay $99 a month and it includes, everything as one fee, or if you have sero which includes the internet then you could cancel with no etf.
