Re: Sprint 5GB internet cap

As soon as Xohm launches here, I'm dumping my data card and jumping on it too.

I agree with you that its ridiculously expensive.

Only reason why I have a data card is because I got sick of my Mogul dropping the ICS connection all the time and having to force EVDO only mode so that it didn't get interrupted by calls and texts. My data card has dropped me twice since I got it in May... my Mogul drops about 15 times a day if I start tethering heavily.

I just ordered a Curve so highspeed tethering is probably going to be out of the question but I'm going to try it anyway. Its only 15 bucks to add PAM to a BB, which is awesome... lets see how much I like a BB over my Mogul though.

There is nothing legitimate about either option. If you don't have PAM, you can not use the data plan that you pay for on anything but the device itself. You're breaking the terms of service either way.

WMWifiRouter is an application that runs on the PPC (you dont even need a computer)

Hello All-
I am a sprint rep amd user who has gone over the 5 GB cap on data.... Our policy is that we do not charge extra for the overage but if you consistently go over we can either limit your throughput or we will send you a letter letting you out of your contract if the usage does not slow down. I have gone over and am still yet to recieve anything from sprint about my usage....Hope this helps

Thanks for the info. All the reps I've spoken to said that they will probably contact you if you are consistently breaking 15+GB, but that it was nothing to worry about.

well, I just logged on to my sprint acct and it says my contract expires 1/06/10. it says unlimited everything.. and under the bandwith thing.. it says unlimited. so if I get any overage charges without a warning from sprint themselves.. they can kiss my ***.. but anyways..I don't even use a gig of bandwith.. last month I think said 49,667kb

Shame that Sprint decided to stoop to Verizon and ATT's level...

So roughly 50 dollars for every GB of overage? Damn!
