This is what i expect to be getting or at least be able to listen to a song and watch a video without buffering. When I had my TP and TP2 I was getting between 1800 and 2400 until February of this year. The CDMA 3G standard (EvDO)is slower than the GSM standard of HSPA which can output speeds of up to 21mbps like I recently got at a t-mobile store on an HD7. I don't expect insane speeds like that when I make the switch but with that at least I know I'll never get below 1000.

HSPA can do more then 21mbps, it can do 42mbps. Also CDMA can do better too with Evdo Rev B and Evdo Rev C (UMB)..there is also the new DO Advanced.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; U; Android 2.3.7; en-us; Incredible 2 Build/GRI40; liquid.vivow.20111101.145728) AppleWebKit/533.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile Safari/533.1)

I get good 3g with verizon. Spotty 4g but its better than having none like i did with sprint.

@gTen I was speaking of normal HSPA and not HSPA+ which can go up to 84mbps. I've heard of Rev.B but not Rev.C and its unlikely that sprint will deploy any of these in the near future. I'll probably have my masters (if I decide to pursue it) by the time sprint straightens this mess out.

@fixxxer2008 what speeds do u get with VZ 3G. PCMag declared that Verizon 3G wasn't any faster on average than sprints. Anywho I should have an update to this thread tomorrow around this time hopefully I can cancel and not get another "still haven't heard from the ticket team yet and can't discuss waiving the ETF until I hear from them" type call like Tuesday was.

Re: ongoing service issues with no resolution in sight (updated)

Back with another update. The rep stupidly calls me at a time when I am unable to talk on the phone (while I was on a crowded bus). I told him to call me at 4pm central when I'm home and he calls me at 3:14! Now when I try to call back at the number given there is no answer!

UPDATE: finally able to get in contact with the rep. He calls me and once again it seems that he has heard from the team but they are still investigating what is causing my problems (it's not rocket science, fix the damn tower and add more base units) and the possibility of waiving my ETF won't be considered until the final findings. He's calling me back Wednesday.

couldn't you just transfer your line to someone else? I mean it has same effect as waving etf

@fixxxer2008 nope not yet. Still awaiting the final results from the network team as to what's causing my problem. Can't be let out until they have a conclusion. My bill is also due about now and if I were to pay it I wouldn't be able to afford to jump ship right away if they did let me out. So I'm not going to pay it till I hear a conclusion. Next call back date is Wednesday.

about the bill thing, can you call sprint to freeze account? I know you won't have service, but maybe pick up a prepaid for a month? Not sure if this would help, but if you don't pay bill, doesn't that result in an etf?

it results in an ETF if u don't pay for quite sometime. I get paid Thursday so I'll pay it then depending on the outcome on Wednesday, if I'm free to cancel then I'll remove my debit card info and start my migration to Tmo. If it's still the same wait for their final findings BS then I'll suck up and pay it Thursday. If they call me and ask y I haven't paid by then I'll say im currently in dispute.
