Re: Sprint is mailing out letters that notify of your Premier Status
I got mine and I emailed them because they are WRONG!! They said I was silver and started service 12/02/2002. LOL, well I keep ALL my reciepts for everything and I have my first bill from them starting 12/02/2000. I scanned and emailed them the bill and yet to hear from them.
Even still. If they don't budge, do you get bumped up to gold on your 10th anniversary??

Re: Sprint is mailing out letters that notify of your Premier Status
I'm eligible for Gold on 8/25/2011. I've had Evo since day 1 and desperately want to be the first to hold Evo2 in June. Have you guys thought about upgrading to the Gold level pkg just for the upgrade and then downgrading after the phone is purchased? Wonder if this would work?

Re: Sprint is mailing out letters that notify of your Premier Status
My premier upgrade started on feburary 1, if I go and try to purchase a new phone today on the web site I get the $150 off. Does this mean if I dont use that upgrade until after april 1 I will lose it?

Re: Sprint is mailing out letters that notify of your Premier Status
Guys, i`ve read a bunch of these comments on sprint.com forums. Login trro your sprint.com account then if you go to the forums you may find Sprint reps post comments on there too. From what I find out this happens if you change your plan at some point in time and their system doesn't automatically show how long you really had Sprint service. Upon a little research by the Sprint SP team, they can usually dig up that info and upgrade you to a gold. I sent PM to the Sprint SP rep on their forum and awaiting the response.
I have been with Nextel for 2 or 3 years before the merger, can't recall if this makes me a customer for 10 year or not. Another thing I found out... if you have a family plan and you do fall into their Silver Mistreatment Disreward program, you can still get $150 Off the primary phone replacement every 12 months, it`s just that the other phones can be replaced every 22 months... Hope this helps. I do feel that this is a bunch of crock. Anybody who is currently a Premier customer should automatically be transferred to Gold. All of the new customers should be getting the Silver Premier unless they pay $169.99 or more... this would be a responsible way to go if Sprint really wants to separate into Silver and Gold BS. Realistically, I'm getting tired of Sprint and prior to activating 3 or 4 new smart phones on my family plan, I will consider changing carriers as at that point I would be paying as much as TMO, Verizon or AT&T, at this point Sprint will loose that edge of being the lower cost carrier. |

Re: Sprint is mailing out letters that notify of your Premier Status
I'm waiting for the other shoe to fall...Right now we have an ETF of $200 and an upgrade discount starting at $150? I'm guessing (I never read the contracts) that the $200 termination fee is written in to our contracts, but not the $150 discount? If so, even that can be lowered, or even raised...if it makes cancelling less appealing. Plus they could change it so that you have to renew a contract after 2 years in order to qualify for even the Silver Premier Status Level. There seems to be a lot that marketing can offer, and then take away once you're a customer, because it's not apart of your "agreement"--it's just one of the reasons you agreed to the contract...hmmmm.
The truth is, and we all know it because we can follow trends, is that it was a bad idea to start the 12 month early subsidized upgrades in the first place, because the cell phone society is all about having the latest and greatest phone that's available on your network. Granted not everyone feels this way, but I'm guessing at atleast $150 a pop, it doesn't take too many to start eating into profits...that's assuming it's a real discount--I confess to not knowing much about the true cost of phones to carriers. However, it was done, and now they want to take it back for the most part, and I've heard they're actually saying it's what their 10+ year customers wanted...really? I'm more inclined to believe that the 10 year olds wanted an additional perk, not for everyone else to lose their main perk, but it was an opportunity to reduce the amount of discounts they give every year...and thus we have April 1st (Sprint Day). I bet they've crunched many a number on how much they will earn with the newer phones coming out (attracting new customers) and weighed that against the "expected" or "estimated" loss in contracted customers...and it looks like the contracted customers lost. I don't like it one bit, but I'm not going anywhere--I'm one of those contracted customers that lost. So yeah, I'm going to pay full price for the EVO 3D and sell my EVO 4G. Contracts mean very little to me out here, I simply go with what service works best...I live out in the middle of nowhere country, the first provider that brings unlimited 4G to my area, gets my business--If it's Sprint, great--if not, I couldn't care less about an ETF...I'm not holding my breath though. |
