Re: How to get Airave2 now with 3g

I have called in a couple of times complaining about service inside my home and asked about the airave. Never have any luck getting one without coughing up the $100 up front and them $5 a month which I told them I shouldnt have to pay extra to use my phone in my house....Verizon didnt make me for the 8 years I was with them..Never works though, they just say "sorry sir".

Re: How to get Airave2 now with 3g

I went ahead and gave it a shot. Normally I have bad luck with getting any kinds of deals. Today was my lucky day. Spoke to a nice guy from Florida named Casey (or KC) and he told me he'd send me one out for free! I asked him, "So I'm not getting charged for this?" and he said "No sir, no charge." Call and ask for KC from Florida and talk about the weather and your summer vacation.

It is like a mini cell tower in your house that hooks up to your home internet for those that have bad reception in their home. Will give you perfect signal!

Re: How to get Airave2 now with 3g

zero ship cost
zero monthly fee

yes if you have good sprint reception then there is no need for this unit.

yes you can use the GPS antenna and cat 5 cable. i would swap out the AC adapter.

if your router has QoS built in then you can set up your router to allow the airvana to have primary access.

in the meantime, you can put the airvana behind the router on an unused port and be just fine. thats what i did and thats how i had the first gen airave...

yep still wont hand off the call and that is the only negative if your not on a call when you leave then no biggie...
i disable QOS on both the router and the Airave. i just have too much data pumping through my network to have the Airave up front slowing things down. i have never been a fan of QOS on consumer devices (geared mostly toward VOIP and gaming). given how fast cable internet (and FIOS of which i cannot get... damn AT&T) is in 2010 having QOS enabled just makes for unacceptable bottlenecks.

You don't need the extra long antenna. That's if the built in antenna cannot get signal. You misread me.
