Ok...so for some reason my Evo didn't like my Airave...I called up and got the new Airvana today. Hooked it up just a little bit ago...and well the only thing I can do is look at my phone and it shows full coverage. When I try to make a call...it just sits there then hangs up. I wonder if Sprint forgot to provision my Airvana...either way I'm having issues with it.

Either my Evo is funked...or the something with Sprint/Airvana is messed up. Hopefuly it's nothing to bad.

did u have that problem with your evo before hooking up the airvana? my evo has been acting spastic...often doesn't ring, leave me voicemail messages or connect to the internet. my firmware and software are current. need to have it looked at before my airvana gets here and gets hooked up.

Go to Phone, ##3282#, click view mode, click Advanced.. scroll down a little to EVRC-B. is it enabled? If so disable it and try..

Mine was enabled and I couldn't use the Airave.. disabled it and I was good to go

I called and called and was transferred and transferred over and over again. finally got to an escalated manager in retentions. Aaaaaand... NOTHING. they were persistant on $99.00 for the device and $4.99/mo for the service. Maybe its because im on the old SERO, maybe because i was too polite to all the tech/telelsales/ retention specialists, but whatever the reason i got NO results. good luck to the rest of you.

I already have an airave. I just called the number above and that is for airave tech support so they transferred me to account services. Here is pretty much how the conversation went:

AS: "Hello Mr. "jason25", I understand you are having problems with your airave. What kind of problems are you having?"
me: "Really none, but I checked my account online and noticed my airave was eligible for an upgrade so while I was in my local Sprint store I asked about it and the lady told me to give this number a call because there was some sort of promtion going on that current owners could get a free upgrade to the new Airave. I heard that it boosts data speeds or something too which would be great since my signal at home is horrible."
AS: Okay, let me speak to my manager.

I was put on hold and she came back and said she would send it at no charge whatsoever and it was coming from the manufacturer so it would be about 7-10 business days.

I usually play dumb when I call Sprint.

I did the same thing. They they were like its not a airave anymore the new name is airave access point blah blah. Guaranteed if you seemed like you knew you wouldn't get anything

Hmm? You shouldn't have to dial anything other than the phone number you are calling. The phone connects automatically when in range, at least it's supposed to, mine does!

If your devices aren't connecting, you might have to login to your sprint account online, go to your airave and allow certain #'s to connect. I just set mine to allow all.

i just got mine replaced for free on the phone with tech support. simply told them had first gen airave having issues. want the new one capable of 3g. i want to use what i pay for. got it free unit still kept my free monthly service. free activation. i even got 50 bucks for my headache. lmao. i love sprint. they treat us good sometimes.said 3 to 5 days will be here. was told do what ever i want with first airave. so im a sell that biotch on ebay.lol any takers 40 bucks.

got em to send me one today. i see on sprint.com it says i have a new phone number and an upgrade available on it on the new airrave. i didnt have one before, so its basically a new line. can i use that upgrade or what?
btw, under description on sprint.com it says airrave access point. im guessing its the 3g model?

Looked into that already. When you try to use the upgrade it says you don't have a phone on that line. Another time it told me I had to upgrade to a plan compatible with the phone I tried to buy.
So id say NO upgrade using the airave!

I am going to sit on it for a little bit to see if Sprint says anything about it. They sent it UPS so they can track that they sent me two. I'll let you know. Do you have broadband internet?

i got 2 in my box but i called sprint and they are sending a return kit for the second.

mine is hooked up and all lites are solid green. lets see what happens!

Has anyone noticed their new Airvana getting hot? I also have trouble with data signal dropping out and texts don't always go through. I have a wireless router and tech supports suggestion was to move them further apart.

i've noticed it seems my 3g doesn't lite up as much as with the old unit. but i do have solid 6 bars on my evo which i didn't even get with the airave.

well, I live in a 1x only area and now I have EV at home, but even though it shows EV I get a lot of "cannot connect to the network" for data and "Could not send messge. Try Again?" for texts. I will see if the techs can get it figured out before I send the original back.

yes I do, and I just called trying to get one myself and they told me that my call drop ratio is just under the amount it needs to be to get it for free, but they made a ticket and the rep talked to her supervisor and they're suppose to call me back with in the hour with a ticket number... I know they aren't gonna fix it, idk why they just don't give me my air wave... i have not signal at all in my closet or bathroom...the two areas I spend alot of tyme in...and no I'm not vain!!! lol

Yes, mine is pretty warm!

I's actually sitting on top of my router, but I am not having any problems with Data or texts.

Did you plug it directly into your modem, and then plug the Router into the Airvana??

thats crazy. i spent less than 5 minutes on the phone with 1 rep in tech support who mentioned a network extender and transfered me to account services.
the second rep offered it first thing, no questions asked. i dont even have the original airave, so i played totally dumb and asked how much it was and he said 99 dollars and 4.99 a month, but we're going to waive that for you.
i dont think they checked any call logs or anything. i was litterally on the phone for 10 minutes total and talking the whole time. they never mentioned dropped calls, nothing. all the first rep did was check for any tower problems. at first i was like "great, theyre going to want to do tests and stuff. this will take forever."
i didnt call from my house though. i called from work and said i felt like i had to because i was afraid the call would drop and i wouldnt get my problem taken care of.
my service really is subpar. i moved in to a new home over the summer, and its been crappy as hell even though im supposedly in a strong 3g and 4g area. i dont get hardly anything inside and get average signal outside.
i know i didnt talk to retentions, but under the device on mysprint.com , it does say retentions offer.
these were my keys to getting one.
it was a new phone and i could return it and they knew it. i made sure to say it about three times that it was a new upgrade on both lines and that i was dissapointed in reception on the new handsets. ive been with em a long time. i didnt call from home so they couldnt do any tests and tell me i didnt qualify. that is it!

the other thing is i didnt call and say "retentions, dammit!" i called tech support and ended up with account services. i dont know who you get if you just dial *2 and start with customer service.

When I got my original airave, I just told them that it was getting old that I had to sit next to a window or go outside to make/receive a call. I was fortunate and the lady said her mom had the same problem and had it sent right away.

Yes, I plugged it directly into the modem and then plugged the router into the Airvana. On my router, I plugged the cable into the Internet port, should I plug it into the LAN port instead?

Called yesterday to cancel for poor service at home and now the price is going up (no more discounts on additional lines). Got a notice today that my new airave2 will be shipped UPS next day.

Sounds like it's hooked up properly. Only thing I would advise is unplugging your modem, router, and airave, and turning them back on. Which you have probably already tried.

My modem has a battery backup so I also had to pull it out to reset it.

the airave shouldnt make any difference regarding 4g at all. it doesnt have a 4g radio. maybe they just rolled out more 4g in your area coincidently at the same time you got the new device.

tell them about this website and that several people were able to call retention and get units. also, tell them most of those people have their airvanas hooked up and working.

telling them about this website is the last thing thats going to get him one. itll make it look like hes just trying to get something everybody else has. talk about your signal issues. be willing to troubleshoot on the phone with them. see if you can replicate the problem, go to the place in your house where you get the poorest signal and let the call drop if you can. or call from somewhere else and tell them you didnt even want to call from home for fear that the call would drop. tell them youve been with them a long time and just want quality service. calling them and saying everybody at this site is calling and getting them is just going to call everybody in to question. the key is to really have poor signal. if you really have shitty service, you are owed one. if you dont then you really dont need one. and they can tell just by call quality an db level wether your bs-ing them.

I have no service in my house. I got a free airrave last year but for the past month its been acting up. It works and than the system button will flash red. i restart it and the samething happens. Ive been on the phone with tech support for hrs and they keep blaming my internet. At this point im fed up with this issue.

If there is a new air rave then I should be entitled to one since I pay for 3g but cant use it in my area.

I just called yesterday and got transferred to account services.
At first they told me that there was a new Airwave out but they had frozen all future orders of it and it was no longer available in the system. She said she could not even place an order for it.

I was about hang up when the CSR asked me about the "Sprint customer satisfaction survey" that will be sent to me afterwards. I was honest and just said that the CSR was fine but I wasn't happy that the new Airwave was no longer available. She told me to wait and put me on hold. About 5 minutes later she said that she talked with her manager and I was put on the list to be sent one. 4 hours after hanging up I got a UPS tracking number.
