Re: This is B.S. I'm so mad
That sucks! You really should just call Sprint. My sister ordered one on Monday and she is scheduled to receive it today.

Re: This is B.S. I'm so mad
I did the pre-order through Radio Shack and had mine the next day and it was an upgrade. There must be more money in it for the retailers if they add a new line... That sucks...

Re: This is B.S. I'm so mad
thats true. stores make more money selling new activations then upgrades. i know of a local sprint store that would tell everyone they were out of stock, but it magically had 3 available for new activations.

Re: This is B.S. I'm so mad
Radio Shack makes money for adding new lines. On launch date, I tried to buy one with cash and was denied. For a retail store to turn down $500 they must be making a killing off of new activations. But you know what they say The early bird gets the worm!
Also check Craigs list. There are several for sell here in atlanta. |

Re: This is B.S. I'm so mad
I bought mine on June 3 at around midnight directly from Sprint. Mine was an upgrade. Received the device on June 6 or 7 IIRC.

Re: This is B.S. I'm so mad
When I worked for a 3rd party delaer, T-Mobile commissions, for example, were around $300. So yea, contracts bring in a lot of money. Part of the commission went for a phone subsidy. So if our cost was $150, we could give a phone for free and make money. Same goes for any other dealer.

Re: This is B.S. I'm so mad
Thats a load of garbage Radio Shack can absolutely do upgrades. I did an upgrade at RS. I would call back and have the retard take another look at his system maybe familiarize himself with it a little better. They just wanted to sell your handset to someone else to make more money.

Re: This is B.S. I'm so mad
I went to a local corporate store and they told me they were outta stock.
I was laughing while they told me this watching a lady in front of me taking hers outta her Sprint bag asking a few questions about her new EVO. Side Note; This is the same Store that had their demos stolen. The manager took my phone to have it checked by his techs. He came back and tells me that none of the ones they had the same defect as mine (lol none in stock?).. I just let it slide, didn't let it get to me.. Nothing I could really do or say, I was 3 days past my 30 day return and at their mercy.. I do understand that they would prefer to do a new activation or upgrade before using up their very limited stock on a replacement. In your case though I would not have asked or answered anything else and just told her that you are on your way. Since she called you, and you confirm you're on your way to them, then complete your deal. In her face after having called you and made you go there, I highly doubt she would tell you they couldn't. -CC
