Re: 4g ..bs>>>

When I'm in 4g, media runs a lot faster, calls are clearer, and I haven't had a problem. I live smack dab in a 4g area and so far I have not had any complaints about that. This is the first I have heard of any issue from someone who actually lives in a 4g area. Have you called Sprint? It is pretty buggy right now even in 4g areas. I had a 3g/4g overdrive and the 4g did not work at all but now it does.

uhm.... there is no extra charge for 4g.
if there was there would be tons of people here paying for a service they aren't getting. be happy you are getting the extra free 4g even if its only 3mb.

i don't live in a 4g area so i can't comment on 4g service unfortunately.
sorry for the ot post.

Re: 4g ..bs>>>

I'm in an area just on the edge of good signal and no signal. Sprint needs more coverage in the local towers. But in the areas it works, I'm getting between 3 and 4 mb/s.

I wish the roll out of 4G was a little stronger before the launch of the evo, but I know 4G will only get better across the country in the coming months. It's the price to pay to be first.

Re: 4g ..bs>>>

I expect 4g to remain a bit spotty for a while. I'm in an area that has some 4g but is not yet listed officially as a 4g area. For me it's not reliable yet but when I get 4g its great. Just this morning I hit 5.2 mbps in this one particular sweet spot that I know of. I get the luxury of testing the speed under the most optimal conditions....very early morning and I imagine i have the tower to myself for the most part-and I must be close to it wherever it is.. I even get 3g speeds of 2mbps there when i run my speedtest.net app at that particular location. I'd post screenshots but my "shoot me" program is busted since i did the update and lost my root.

I think we all just need to be patient. Even under 3g the evo is the best web enabled phone ive ever had. So I will wait for Sprint just like i did with 3g.

I do agree with the first poster in that when the speed slows down to 3g speeds it is quite frustrating, though....

Re: 4g ..bs>>>

I would kill for 2-3mbs.....Im on "fast 3g" for 10 bucks extra a month and the fastest ive seen is between .2 and .9....i would jump the damn grand canyon for 2-3 Mbps. I can't even watch youtube vids cause all they do is pause and buffer every 20 seconds.

To the person who said "10 Mbps"....that's not what sprint said....they claim speeds "up to 10 times faster than 3G". So if 3G is .9 to 3 Mbps then 4G should be 3-6 Mbps max.

Re: 4g ..bs>>>

i get 3 bars of 4g and consistently get ONLY 1.50 to 1.9Mbps. What a waste.

and 4g has been in my area since 10/2009 according to its press release for cc tx

and yes, i've called sprint. they opened a ticket and closed it and left a vm saying i lived in a blindspot. lol i get these speeds all throughout town!

How long has Sprint advertised 4g in your area, did YOU read my entire post? It has been out for a few days across the country, its ten bucks, get a second job or a Jitterbug if it hurts so bad.
