Before you complain about the coverage, look at the 4g map and see if it is offered in your area. St. Louis was just added to Sprints map a couple days ago, and oddly enough it has been working better the past couple of days. 4g has been on and off for the few weeks I have had my phone, but not fast or reliable, but again, Sprint wasn't claiming it was ready.
And like another poster said, "give it time" it has been up for a few days in my area, so I am expecting some issues still.
I ran a speedtest.net this afternoon and was almost 5 mbps.
I didn't buy the phone solely for 4g, if anyone did, I think they might be disappointed. Anytime you expect the latest whatever, expect to be a bit of guinea pig too.

how about you ding ding your 7 posts, and read, or look up my area before you chime in with your smart @ss answer ? Im paying $10 a months for service that im in prime area for and not getting anything over 3mb.. I have had my phone for 3 weeks now, coming off of a tp2, and the mougal before that and a ppc6700 before that, so i am familiar with tech and improvements.. I started this thread looking for others who should be getting 4g speeds and aren't.. This isn't a beta area I LIVE IN.. Again look at what was typed and read , before you start spewing your lack of knowledge..

How long has Sprint advertised 4g in your area, did YOU read my entire post? It has been out for a few days across the country, its ten bucks, get a second job or a Jitterbug if it hurts so bad.

again Genius.... im in chicago land area.. where 4g has been around since last year.. Have you ever heard of CLEAR? they were advertising 4g last year..
why dont you send me $10 a month for nothing (cause thats what im getting from Sprint, nothing more than i had with my 3g coverage), and see how it feels to WASTE money.. its not that i cant afford it..( i paid full price for my phone, cause i already upgraded to the TP2 the first day it came out.. its the fact of paying more for the same service... if you cant understand the topic of my thread.. stop trolling, and post in the DOS forum, and keep carrying that pager.. and your BAG phone.. oh wait.. your walkie talkies..

Many people are confused about this $10 extra a month. That $10 is not for 4g coverage, its like paying a premium but on your phone since sprint spent alot of money trying to roll these phones and network out, they need something to help them continue advancing with their 4g technology. The only are that is fully 4g right now is Baltimor. That is the only city that has full capacity 4g, other then that the towers are all minimal, and will be upgraded throughout the year.

so we're spending money to help roll out 4g? doesnt that essentially mean its for 4g?

anyways sprint says its for 'premium data' but you seem to change the fee to what you want it to mean... so why can't others do the same?

to me, its either for the ability to get 4g speeds..or to help pay for the phone and how low they priced it so that everyone can afford one.

uhm.... there is no extra charge for 4g.
if there was there would be tons of people here paying for a service they aren't getting. be happy you are getting the extra free 4g even if its only 3mb.

i don't live in a 4g area so i can't comment on 4g service unfortunately.

OK.... there charging an extra $10 per month for the 4g.(mandatory)because we are going to use more data, because its faster.. bla bla.... ha.... Verizon isnt charging the extra.... and they dont have 4g..
