Re: Sprint releasing contracts over $4.99 a month??

To tell you the truth I don't understand that Myself. I've had sprint for some time, in fact my first phone was a scp 5100 and I actually found it. I never looked back since. Bottom line is that sprint has the cheapest and most comfortable plan around and the best devices. I was going to switch to AT&T but the only really good device they have is the iphone. To tell you the truth, the iphone isn't all that great either. I did get one and unless your'e willing to for every single (usefull) app. the phone isn't worth any thing. Just another pricey toy that gets more pricey the more you add to it. WinMo phones are more versatile and user friendly. As far as the above comment I've dealt with stupid csr's and I think you gotten some dumb ass that didn't relay the message correctly to you.

you should ask sprint to remove that spending limit.

Re: Sprint releasing contracts over $4.99 a month??

when i first signed with sprint 8 years ago, I had a 250 spending limit, then upgrade to a new phone and they renewed contract with a 400 spending limit, only had one late payment by a few days, when that contract ended, spending limits were renewed, the renewed my contract for one year with the touch pro, but no spending limit, why do you still have a spending limit if you have been with them so long? just have them remove it, be nice when you call, and explain how long you have been with them, if that fails, call retentions.

Re: Sprint releasing contracts over $4.99 a month??

I work for Sprint and may be able to assist. I can't post my email because it's the first time I've used this site. Can you send me a private message with the phone number on your account? I will review to see if I can make an exception.
Thank you,

Jen White

Re: Sprint releasing contracts over $4.99 a month??

Go with Verizon! See I keep telling people Sprint sucks! I ditched my business data line with them. I almost switched my reg phone to them. Glad I didn't. What im surprised is why are you still under a spending limit program still? You should have been switched to a regular account. Their loss!

I called Sprint today because I find this fee to be bullcrap, and I was told they are willing to cancel my account without paying any early termination fee. I've been with Sprint for 9 years to the month. I've never had a bill under $120 USD and yea, sometimes I paid a few days late, but they always got paid. And now over $4.99 a month, Verizon or AT&T is getting a new customer.

Is there a future for this company?

Re: Sprint releasing contracts over $4.99 a month??

When it looks like a pig, chances are it is a pig!

First off, I want to express that the supervisor I spoke with on the phone was courteous and helpful and made every attempt, given by corporate Sprint, to address and resolve my concern.

Unfortunately, corporate Sprint had made questionable limits on what could or could not be provide by its supervisors to resolve my concerns.

Corporate Sprint believes, and has instructed its employees, that this letter and $4.99 monthly fee outlines a customer benefit. However, it is obvious that a benefit would offer a customer a discount to create a desired action rather than impose a fee otherwise.

As I do not see how using auto pay to make monthly payments rather than my current payment method would provide Sprint with any cost savings, Sprint has assessed a penalty as a result of my decision. I presently have the freedom to use the sprint.com website to pay my bill a number of ways including credit card, debit card, checking account, and savings account. Corporate Sprint has decided this freedom is worth a fee of $4.99 per month.

As a result of Sprint’s decision:
  • I will not be renewing my subscription at the end of my contract date.
  • I will not provide any word of mouth marketing to promote Sprint.
  • I will actively support any sprint customer discontent legally available including Internet websites, chat rooms, and consumer support groups.
  • I will pursue, support and advocate any class action suits that result from Sprint’s decision.
  • I will enjoy seeing how AT&T, Verizon, T-mobile, and other competitors will capitalize on Sprint’s lack of insight with this decision.

If any Sprint employees are part of this group, I understand that you do not have direct voice in corporate matters. My hope is to teach you the difference between a benefit and a penalty. And to help you understand that if a company is attempting to generate immediate cash flow by imposing a penalty to its customers when that penalty does not justify a company expenses, the stability of the company is in question.

For all others, the Internet is a strong voice. We consumers have much more power over the success and failure of a business than in the past.

Re: Sprint releasing contracts over $4.99 a month??

If you've paid your bill on time for a while, ask them to review your account.

When I was first with Sprint at 18, I had a 125 dollar spending limit. I paid my bill on time for about 6 months and it went away.

The bitch of it is my account HAS to have a spending limit on it, it has nothing to do with my credit.

Re: Sprint releasing contracts over $4.99 a month??

exactly..Ive been with sprint in one form or another for going on 11 years. now.. when i first signed up.. no spending limit etc.. god laid off in 03 so i cancel sprint ( was off contract ) to tighten up the belt.til i found another job.. fast forward to 04 i signed back up..guess what got a spending limit but no deposit.. kept sprint til dec.. canceled again.. ( they took the spending limit away in 05 ) anyway went to tmobile for a few weeks.. canceled that. signed back for sprint dec 24.. and guess what got a spending limit.. now i know my credit is decent.. as since 04 to current ive got rid of all debt.. ( the hard way mind u, just paying it off..) sold my house,, etc.. and have check my credit twice a year.. etc..

Im not mad at the 4.99 fee. as after my 25% discount im paying like 97 a month anyway for the 129 1500 family plan.. but am in no way gonna sign up for autopay.. cause with sprint..even though my bill is consistant. u never know when something will mess up etc.. and next thing u know. i have 300 taken out my bank..instead of the 100 or so.lol

but the spending limit thing i think is hit or miss. and has nothing to do with how good or bad your credit is.. cause my best friend. just went through a div andfile chapter 11. Right after that he signed up with sprint.. no spending limit.. etc..
