Well, I'm getting 50% faster speed on mobilespeedtest using Opera 9. Honestly, I don't really know which browser to use. I've been told to try IE for proper speedtesting, but I can't even get mobilespeedtest to run on IE right now. I haven't been browsing enough to tell much of a difference. My bedroom is a weird place when it comes to coverage; not T-Mobile's fault, just this shitty apartment complex's fault.

Okay, just bombed around in different browsers and I'm noticing a faster and more dependable speed. I still have only 2 bars sitting in this chair, so I'll be getting a better test from my work chair, with 100% signal.

So not to take away from tmobile but remember i said i live in San Jose, Well guess what, Silicon Valley has a 20 mile radius so our to major technilogical companies and the people that reside in this 20 mile radius are receiving wimax according to this article and will have the official roll out of wimax in 2010. Isn't sprint supposedly releasing a wimax phone soon, i just might have to pick it up.

you're are right though, because max output for wimax is 10mbps and 3g+ can have up to 12, so sprint is missing 2 mbps. At least i'll be able to get service everywhere instead of praying i'll have signal where i land.

Do you honestly believe EITHER of these networks will actually see those peak speeds?

nobody ever gets peak speeds, but it was nice to see t-mobile so high on the "compare" link of the mobilespeedtest results page

Good thing I live in the city right next to the #6 city in the US(use to be #5), but we got rev-a in my area right when they were talking about releasing it. lol.

I don't really see a problem with so many cell towers as one, they provide TONS of service to other cell phone companies......I mean shoot, Alltel has always been ran off of Verizon's cell towers since the day it started.
All of those service they provide equals more income, which equals more towers and more money to spend on making them better.
Therefore the only thing that is stopping them from being able to get it done right now, is not wanting to shelling out the cash.

It's kinda interesting that I have got speeds right around the broadband speed, which is 768kbps according to their site, and fast 3g is 1000kbps.
I kept clearing the cache so it was legitimate, but what's really funny about it is I had one bar out of my 5 total that I could have.

I've never had problems with speed or any kind of problems with Verizon over other companies....except customer service at times (since it became Verizon, but with Alltel there was no customer service problems if you called the 1-800 number, the stores were a pain though).

Re: T-Mobile flicks HALF of the "dimmer" switch...

just because lte can go 100, I doubt many towers will have back hauls big enough to support anywhere near that. which reminds me, I think wimax is more of an integrated switching network where nodes can use other nodes for back haul, thus 'in-network' traffic is more efficient.
