Re: [12/09/10] BlackBerry Swiss Army Knife v1.9.1
I updated from 1.5 to 1.9.11 and the new version was unable to locate the BBOS on my PC. The old version did. 1.9 was able to do a wipe, just not the OS load. Had to use DM. Prior to installing 1.9 I deleted 1.5 with Revo and pulled it out by the roots.

Re: [12/09/10] BlackBerry Swiss Army Knife v1.9.1
Hi I am trying to upgrade OS5 to OS 6 on my unlocked Wind phone that's currently being in use on Rogers network.
I have used the "Load OS" button to upload Rogers OS6 onto my phone. BBSAK reported that it has successfully installed the upgrade. After that, I opened BB Desktop Manager > Device > Update then pressed OK. Nothing happens.. so rebooted my BB, checked About and found that it's still OS5. Then I tried again by loading Wind OS6 instead, opened DM and repeated but this time I've found the button "View other versions" (which I missed the first time around), and I see three (3) on the list. One is the original OS5, OS6 Rogers, and OS6 Wind. DM reported an error after selecting either OS6 "There was an error updating your software". I've uninstalled Rogers from my PC, rebooted, and no matter what, all of these are still on the list when viewing it via DM with my BB connected. This led me to believe that the list were obtained from the BB itself and not from my PC because BBSAK reported that it has successfully loaded both OS6 (Rogers and Wind). Is there a way to unload both OS6 from my BB so I can start over fresh? I'm guessing the update didn't work because I didn't delete *both* vendor.xml files at two different location prior to using the Load OS button. I've followed the instruction here. TIA |

Re: [12/09/10] BlackBerry Swiss Army Knife v1.9.1
Hi, first of all, thanks for coming up with this tool. Now I have an issue with your program, it doesn't seem to detect the installed OS. I had some troubles with my phone, BB Curve 8520. So I decided to wipe it, and do a clean install. I backed up the apps, and wiped it clean. I downloaded and installed the apropiate OS from RIM (8520wifiM_PBr5.0.0_rel1728_PL5.2.0.96_A5.0.0.1067 ). And when I tried to load the OS from BBSAK, i get this message "No OS found, Please install a OS for your phone". I don't know what to do, cause its driving me crazy. Blackberry Desktop Manager does give me that OS as installed. What did I do wrong? or what can I do to fix this?

Re: [12/09/10] BlackBerry Swiss Army Knife v1.9.1
If the BlackBerry's password starts with a space, BBSAK will show you the error message where it says that no device is found. When the password is changed to remove the space, BBSAK will flawlessly connect. It's not too major of a bug but would be cool if you were able to get it fixed.

Re: [12/09/10] BlackBerry Swiss Army Knife v1.9.1
Hi,
I did a donate for BBSAK a few weeks ago. But I still did not receive a version that really works without nagscreen. Please send me the new version (1.9.2) installer without nag screen by mail. Thanks in advance! Regards Daniel |

Re: [12/09/10] BlackBerry Swiss Army Knife v1.9.1
Hey all! Just downloaded the latest BBSAK to attempt to recover from a bricked 9810 after a random java failure. The phone was detected and I was able to capture the event log, dump the phone, backup the 3rd party apps, and wipe the phone. Now that i am at the 507 screen, I am unable to re-load the OS onto the phone. I downloaded and installed the latest OS directly from my carrier's site (so as to avoid conflicts or issues as this is the wife's bberry) but it still will not detect it. OS version is 7.0.0.538, so i know it's not the newest one out there. Any ideas would be appreciated. I'm going to try to use DM to re-load the OS for now.
Also, I would not mind beta testing the program since I am a computer consultant and have access to Win XP, vista, and 7 machines both 32 & 64 bit. I also have a bunch of old bberries laying around including several 8300,8310,8330,8100 and my 9000. Just let me know if ya need my help. |
