Re: average time before corrupt data.img?

lol all my problems were caused by a bad microSD. wow, I don't know what to say. AWESOME.
btw, when I was looking to see what kind of microSD card to get, I found this forum:
SD Strange-results - or - How I learned to love CM7 on SD - xda-developers
seems like overwhelmingly the best cards for running android off it would be a SanDisk 8 or 16 GB Class 2!!! or class 4. And then test the random write/random read speed -- aim for something ABOVE 1 MB/s. aside from my bad microSD card being bad and corrupting everything, the random write/random read speeds were around .020 MB/s...

Re: average time before corrupt data.img?

In terms of data corruption when the file system is not journaled, the best practice is to avoid shut downs when battery is low and to avoid pulling the battery and instead using the built in reboot/shutdown.

Also to keep in mind SD cards are not exactly meant for high consecutive writes. Doing so eats away their lifespan. Though the controller usually distributes the writing so it does not happen onto the same block too many times, this is why its good to have as much free space as possible.

I agree with you completely.

The main problem with our port is there is no "proper" way to shutdown. It won't properly umount the SD card the way our port is setup...
