(just use a usb headset for testing, does same thing as mogul dongle)

How difficult would it be to make a widget that makes it think there is something inserted in the mini-usb plug? Also, a mini-usb to 3.5mm jack might be a good work around.

Interesting... not sure it would be worth it to be honest. ACL seems pretty close to getting it to actually function correctly .

BTW: I'm using all the latest stuff right off the xdandroid.com site, new haret as well.

lol sorry teraDOG! I was able to confirm this for ACL. It does indeed work - kudos to your kid!

Hopefully ACL and emwe can sort it out. I noticed that the phone was having sleep issues after using extUSB. I don't think ACL has revisited that code since he originally put it in... would be nice to have both working flawlessly .

I just emailed my patch to emwe. Its does the recognition portion and hopefully he can finish it to do the sound routing part. Im working tommm and wont be back until sunday so worse case ill have a test kernel then.

I would have done it tonight but i really gotta get to bed.

The recognition does work flawlessly .. However i didnt bother recognizing anything extra like buttons or any of the fancy stuff the new 3.5mm headsets have.. this is strict audio :-p

No worries man. Some detection/audio routing is better than none! I'm sure eventually people will get complacent and wonder why it doesn't work tho... just get it done before that happens .

Looking forward to testing this out! This is one of the last things as far as hardware functionality goes... prox sensor is the last "major" thing... I can't even think of anything else other than TV out and the advanced GPS features... Keep it up dude!

I have the rhodium 400. The new build disables the usb headphone jack. I have the problem with the new build making my phone get stuck on headphone mode. A good work around is to use the old build with a usb to female 3.5mm jack. Works perfect. Costs like 2 bucks on ebay. Looking forward to a perfect working 3.5mm. Thanks for all your hard work.
