There's ways to mod the theme, but they're troublesome. I've been able to change the text color in the notification bar, but I've been unable to successfully modify the color of the notification bar.

Plus, it takes manual hacking at the system image. No fun. 2.3 has a black bar by default...

yeah I did a little reading on google and found the same thing, the manual route is more work than I am willing to do
