Different startup files can have an effect on how droid runs... would like an easy way to take out of the picture. Right now I go into total commander & copy \win\startup directory to windows\startup OR copy \droid\startup directory to \windows\startup...

The reality.... you're putting to much time & effort & research into it! :>)) I say that with good intent! It really is as easy as disabling any OC you have first, install the cab to an old 1, 2, 4 gig SD card, expand it, use a file manager to double click the haret file. You'll see the text go tiny & scoll a ton of stuff by, pause for a 1/2 min, scroll some more, blank, delay, it's running. Done. Typically at this point I'd say, if you get no network (can't make a call or pull up a web page) then put the SIM in... But, you'll need GSM as you don't have CDMA at all correct? So, you'll need your SIM in.. easy. You may want to look at the GSM forum for TP2's over at XDA if you like to do the research first... If it doesn't work, try another cab! Delete all the crap & start over... you won't hurt the tp2, just do it. Avoid the Blazen at first... You may need to either have the startup file associated with your network OR run the one of the Windows front end GUI's that usually come in the cab for that droid build if it doesn't work... try it, try it again, try again... you could try all the builds DL, expand cab & run each in the time it takes you to read one of these forums.. when you figure out something new, post it, it'll help others... get stuck.. post the question, don't worry about the critics, there's enough good ones around, you'll have it running tonight!! Been wanting to for a long time but kept putting it off because grad school has been too busy. Took a study break for just 30 mins and have almost everything the way I want it. Was pretty much quicker than flashing a new ROM. Still have a lot to learn but now that I have it working, I can take the time to work on it and tailor it to the way I like. Thanks for the welcome! Re: Simple Guide: ANDROID TP2 CDMA TIPS/FAQ¡¯s Oct. 2010
HI All, I have the Droid up and running on my TP2 and am getting most of the bugs worked out but wondering if there is a setting to fix the G sensor to operate correctly. It keeps changing the phone from landscape to portrait but in the wrong direction, like if i hold the phone up it goes landscape...... I found the setting to turn off the sensor but would like to have it work right if possible. Is there something i need to put in the startup.txt file to set it? Im this file XDAndroid 2.2 (rel 1.6).cab to install and launch. It lets you pick your phone, asks if you want it OC'd then creates this startup.txt file.
set ramsize 0x10000000 set ramaddr 0x10000000 set mtype 2292 set KERNEL zImage set initrd initrd.gz set cmdline "acpuclock.oc_freq_khz=650000 lcd.density=240 msmts_calib=0x9f.0x39a.0x35c.0x78 clock-7x00.a11=500 msmvkeyb_toggle=off pmem.extra=1 gsensor_axis=-1,-2,3 force_cdma=1 physkeyboard=rhod210" boot Edit; Found solution after comparing some startup.txt files. Changed "gsensor_axis=-1,-2, 3" to "gsensor_axis=2, 1, 3" Now gsensor works as expected on my DroiDed TP2 Last edited by pcmanager; 12-31-2010 at 02:44 AM. |
