Re: Simple Guide 11/11 Android on SD card! 4 Easy Steps (15 min): TP2 DL lnks (FRX07

I did read it. That's how I was able to read about the link by SkyFox or whatever his name was from the XDAndroid Project link you sent me.

For terminal app, I like ConnectBot. Is that all you really needed?

Lascott7 we are not going to tolerate you getting irate at arrrghhh when he is clearly trying to help you. If you cannot follow his directions you most likely shouldn't be using frx07.1 and please DO NOT try to use any of the NAND builds. With all that being said if wifi worked in 7.0 for you revert back to that and call it a day also if you can't set your wifi access point with wifi off then common sense says turn it on then configure.

I wasn't trying to be irate with him. It seemed like he was acting a little harsh at me. I thank him for helping me and I can just simply call it a day and revert back to the 7.0. I never used NAND before, therefore I don't think I will be using it. I am a very sweet person, it's just I don't like it when people act harsh toward me when trying to help, since I am new to this whole thing in the first place. Again, thanks arrrrgghhh for your help and SC/ANT too. God bless.

My whole point is, everyone is new to this at some point. I was too. I had to read, and read, and read - and when I started, there wasn't that much material to read!! So if you're going to experiment with this stuff, you need to be willing to get your hands dirty. PM'ing me constantly does not constitute getting your hands dirty.

May FSM bless you.

^^^ Exactly, we do not mind helping but you cannot expect us to hold your hand so to speak and answer questions that you can easily find the answers to. Do not get me wrong every once in awhile I ask a piddly question like " what does LK stand for?", but I don't blow up peoples pm box with 20 questions that could be answered with a simple search. An example is I read the XDAndroid frx03 page 5 times before I began downloading then read it another 3 times so I didn't need to ask any questions. Reading something is not enough you must comprehend it.
Edit- Just got the Flying Spaghetti Monster thing...

Re: Simple Guide 11/11 Android on SD card! 4 Easy Steps (15 min): TP2 DL lnks (FRX07

Ok guys, I totally agree with both of you. I normally do my research but I kind of gotten too eager to even find the correct answer. I know it's just common sense to do a search. That's why about the wifi thing, I did see some things on how to fix it but did not understand it. That's why I had to ask you guys. Another thing was I appologize for acting coocoo inboxing too much. That was very silly. But the update on my tp2 on Android, I decided to keep the frx07.1 because I don't like the light thing staying on. I will be downloading the ConnectBot like I am doing now, not realizing I didn't read the very last end of Arrrgggh's post he told me before, because I thought it was part of his signature or something. I already put wifi ace on there and it's not doing anything. I will do the terminal thing and this should work. Will keep you guys posted. Thanks so much guys for being such a help.

Wifi ace is for WEP - which if you have any choice in the matter, don't use it. It's very insecure, easily cracked...

Also, if wifi worked before, you shouldn't need the wifi-nvram trick either. What is the problem exactly? I don't think I've seen any logs from the failure... I wonder if it's a simple module mismatch.

Re: Simple Guide 11/11 Android on SD card! 4 Easy Steps (15 min): TP2 DL lnks (FRX07

Well the problem was everytime I turn on wifi and when I go to set up, it says 'unable to scan'. I did go to the ConnectBot that I installed, and did the following step:

Open a terminal window, and type:

su
mount -o remount,rw /system
find /lib/modules/ -type l -delete

Then reboot. The modules will be unpacked on next boot.

I had to find my server which was thescotts7@xx.xxx.xx.xx:22 but I couldn't do it as ssh, but as a local host. After I did the reboot, nothing happens, the same old thing. Then, I found another step, which I downloaded the wifi-nvram.txt file and added my MAC address in the macaddr line, renamed the file to wifi-nvram and added it into my sdcard as: sdcard/andbootfrx07.1/ of my card. So I did follow the following steps:

su
cp /sdcard/wifi-nvram.txt /data/wifi-nvram.txt

After doing that, I get:

Cp: cannot stat ' /sdcard/wifi-nvram.txt': No such file or directory

I tried: /sdcard/andbootfrx07.1/wifi-nvram.txt /data/wifi-nvram.txt (hoping it would work)
It didn't do anything. Does it mean it worked?

Update! After doing the /sdcard/andbootfrx07.1/wifi-nvram.txt /data/wifi-nvram.txt
I turned on wifi and the next thing you know, I saw my connection! Thanks so much for everything you guys do! I finally fixed it.

There has to be something wrong with it, I've only had this happen once with a crappy 1 gig that came with my old BB8330. Just get a sandisk 8 gig and format to fat32 you shouldn't have issues then...avoid killing your battery and back up with Titanium backup.
