Re: Simple Guide FRX07!!, 4 Easy Steps (15 min): XDANDROID TP2 DL links

Thanks Teradog for putting this together. I finally decided to try this on my Sprint TP2, and everything worked great except the Contact. Although it shows as normal in "Accounts & Sync", I can't get the Contact to load either from Phone dial or from Menu, every time it gives a black screen for a few seconds and goes back to the home screen. Anyone knows on how to resolve this issue? Thank you so much!

I'm not sure what you mean.

Do you have all your contacts sync'd with your Google account? If so, they should sync with your Android handset - so long as they're in the "My Contacts" section in GMail.

Yes, all contacts have sync'd with my google account. When I call a number in contact, it shows the person's name.

But when I click the "Contacts" button in "Phone" or Menu, somehow it just can't load thus I can't look for a friend's number if needed.

Hrm. I guess first step would be a simple reboot. Next, perhaps try clearing the application data from the Contacts app in Settings -> Manage Applications?

If that fails you might be in for a new data.img, and just resync everything. Perhaps try to make sure you can open Contacts with none in there...? If you have a boatload perhaps it's just loading...?

And if all that doesn't work, hit the contacts button that doesn't work, wait a minute or two, and then run GetLogs and pull some logs for us to see if there's anything in there going wrong, possibly a corrupted contact server-side that the phone app can't handle or something.

Reboot didn't work, I had to delete the data.img and let it create a fresh one.
It's working now, thank you very much!

Hey lovingHDTV, pizza2002, jeeman... did you know you can hit the Thanks button 30 times every 24 hours & it doesn't cost you anything?!! :)

Not seeing any in the last couple pages, please do so for arrrghhh & rpierce99... good way to keep them answering your questions :???:. Only takes .5 seconds, I'll go do that now.

Hehehe almost funny, would be happy to try & help but you have 1 sentence... how would anyone know where you're getting hung up? On the DL, unzipping it, the 1st boot? PLEASE re-read post #1 on "what to expect". If it's the 1st boot, did you see... "If it doesn't give you the water background lockscreen within 9 min..." If not, you need to read 1st. Give plenty of details on exactly what you did & where you are.
