Re: Worth the wait? Will it one day be "complete enough"?
GPS is working now!!!
I was able to get my gps to work by take this file and extracting the file 1. Download the latest rootfs. 2. Extract the lastest rootfs and rename it to (rootfs) 3. Find the andboot folder on your storage card. 4. Replace the rootfs file on your storage card with the new one you downloading from the web. 5. Run android and you are finished. Now my gps works and I am happy!!!

Re: Worth the wait? Will it one day be "complete enough"?
So what are the "big" things left? And specifically with sound, how many slots left need to be worked on? I know that that with the TP2, there are 8 sound slots instead of just 1, so what number are we at and what are the sticking points with the unfinished slots?

Re: Worth the wait? Will it one day be "complete enough"?
Thanks for the tip about the IRC channel. Although most of the discussion is above my level of understanding the following bit gave me a little hope....
"03:10 jonpry i found the problem with the gps driver using it. trying to get sound working now " (posted 5.8.10) I think that for anyone eager to keep up on the Devs progress the IRC channel is the way to go. Great work on the GPS. Will be back on Caulkins Android Rom tonight....

lol, because most of us here are not blackberry fans and that's a mirror image of one... And the guy you quoted I believe was talking about a slide out keyboard, not front facing one, those are old school...
