Make sure you erase your data.img file. The flip clock is usually added by default and if you have data available the weather will update as well. one thing i noticed is that the weather animation doesnt work when you have data.

Works for me. Posting this from android running on verizon tp2.

Edit:

Rhod500
Init: http://xdandroid.southcape.org/initramfs/initrd-20100328-d4cd3e8.gz
Rootfs: http://xdandroid.southcape.org/rootfs/rootfs-20100409-7ca1577.zip
Build: http://www.sendspace.com/file/qmkfbq
System.sqsh: http://xda.duttonbiz.com/package_hero_rosie_07042010/system0704.sqsh
Modules: linux-msm.201004091722.tar.gz from http://balsat.hopto.org/ (dirty modules have no debugging and are generally faster some say. generally you can use the glemsom without problems as well)

I just unzipped the build into a folder, deleted the initrd.gz, system.sqsh, zimage, rootfs.img and modules. Then I placed each of the files above in the folder, modded my startup.txt for the Rhod500 and booted it. Takes 15-20 mins on first boot. Subsequent boots are faster. Once booted, I let sense load fully, then re-booted. Once the second boot is finished I went into wireless settings, networks, select automatically register on the network and allow data roaming. After this the 3g connection works. Now, I do not have roaming so if you are not sure about your roaming status I wouldnt try this yet.

Can you do me a great favor and test out the version i put. There has been changes to help the CDMA users and we are trying to merge versions so we can continue developing in just one location. What i put up should help recognize cdma faster. Also people reported the startup to appear faster than normal.

Let me know. Thanks.

Thanks have been given, btw my SN on xda is lebmb :) cant wait to get it goin :)
on a second note, i think the RIL in the curent rootfs is whats causing the reboots with metropcs, after i installed APNDroid and disabled data while in airplane mode, then turned off airplane mode and was able to stop it from rebooting, once i entered the APN settings for metro, no more reboots. so the problem was due to trying to connect to a blank apn setting.
at least it's working now, but i cant add my gmail account over data for some reason, couldn't do it with the previous system either.

Try renaming the rootfs file to take out any extraneous characters (eg, if your file is rootfs23481 rename it to just rootfs)

Did you ever have metro working properly with any release?

xda is really more geared to pleasing the crowd Raph/diamond/blac/rhod/topaz. But if the cdma users dont report enough errors i think they go overlooked. If there is a specific build you had success with, let me know so we can try to figure out why metro is failing.

I have sprint and the only issue i have is no cdma data when the sim card i in. But other than that, everything works just fine.

thank you both for the reply, it's a combination of things, the 0407 rootfs and system were ok, and data worked for the first time, it never worked on the xandroid for metro no matter what i did, with the sense i just put the regular settings that ppl put from the the vogue forums and worked right away. the 0413 system mixed with the 0407 rootfs would keep on rebooting as soon as the data turned on so shortly after it boots up im done, sometimes i wouldn't get passed the setup screen. what i did was use an old rootfs that didn't even connect to metropcs network, installed apndroid and disabled data then replaced with the 0407 rootfs and was able to go into the network settings, enter in my apns and i was good to go, took me like a week to figure out why it was rebooting lol now it's perfect, however even on wifi still can't add a google account but i dont think im the only one having that issue, and even when using data, the arrows dont light up for the connection which is telling me that the setup wizard is not even attempting a connection, with the wifi on and tried to set up, (of course data automatically turns off) the setup asked me to turn on wifi lol at first i thought it was metro but now im thinking it's a general thing. sorry if i went on for a while but i hope this helps in figuring things out, for what it's worth i did have the same issue with xandroid at one point rebooting, as well as others with metropcs but what i did is use an older rootfs, and then normal reboot and use the newest rootfs and it was fine after that, strange but it worked. the issue with the sim card started with MrPippy RIL update to the rootfs, doesn't bother me since my broke behind aint going no where lol otherwise i wouldn't be on metropcs lol
oh and btw klinuxx, the base package rootfs had to have been from before the 3 31 update when MrPippy added the RIL because it shows that it's not connected to the network, yet i still get and send txt msgs and make calls :) but no need for that now with the latest rootfs from the xda side

I'm including a dump from my phone now. It's a little behind the official klinux build since i havent had time to upgrade and one of the apps seems to be crashing for me during boot. Try it out since it also has the wifi module that will work on all Rhods. It uses the famous Mrpippy ril since that right now is the onlyone that works. http://hotfile.com/dl/38817594/f910a...od.tar.gz.html Since the wifi library i made works with the AOSP, it will soon be added to the xdandroid rootfs so there will only be one location for all of this. Thanks for the details and i hope this works out for you. Also if you have any logcats or dmesgs that might help troubleshoot.

I discussed with [ACL] about this, he will start a new thread here and keep updating it, he has more experience than me on cdma stuff and we started working on team on this project nearly from the beginning,

anyway, I will read feedbacks and answer them here and on the new thread too.

the community rootfs was updated with all the changes, so you can use the latest one.

Make sure you always erase your data.img.

I just finally got back to playing with Android (about a month hiatus) and loaded my sense "build" with all the latest files...phone works just fine but still no data (wifi or Ev)...is there a specific rootfs I was supposed to use?

Off topic, slightly, but does anyone know if custom ROMs for Hero/etc are setup to have more than 5 tabs? Given the bountiful app/widget availability, you'd think they'd give you more tabs to customize.

For starters make sure you get rid of the old data.img and your sim card is out. The changes for the wifi were submitted to the autobuild service so the latest one will work (The one labeled Apr 20 has the changes already) http://xdandroid.southcape.org/rootfs/ I took a copy from my phone with everything already on it. Im trying to make things easier for the cdma crowd. http://hotfile.com/dl/38817594/f910a...od.tar.gz.html I have sprint and this works flawlessly for me.

APN?

make sure you create an APN for sprint. Go to the apn sextion and press the windows button. For name just put down sprint and for the apn just put down "internet.com". Press the windows button again and save. Once this is done, select the apn you just created and voila .. 3g.

This is all done in the "Wireless & networks" under "mobile networks". Hope this helps.

ACL i see a new system is out from klinux, is it the same as the one u packaged for me a couple of days ago ? or is it a newer one ? thanks
so far the dump from your phone has been pretty good, free memory after closing everything (but leaving htc sense on) got me about 90mb of free memory with the new kernel of course.
everything works for the most part such as data and wifi and market. it does reboot on its on sometimes tho, not the whole phone just android, love the quietly brilliant animation :)

The one that was released today has 3d drivers from the Desire. We are still trying to figure out more about those drives so dont expect everything them to speed up the ui.

No other major changes.

Thanks, the quietly brilliant is the stock boot animation. Ive been asked to create a thread here but it doesnt seem like there is a lot of interest.

i hear ya. thanks for the quick reply.
i dont mind checking both sites either way. it's all good. i really liked the xandroid but fell in love with the sense ui cuz if i wanted to i could have both by having another homescreen like helix launcher installed on the sense ui port.
anyway im looking forward to a complete built lol. it has come along way, unfortunately i have to send my phone to HTC for repairs, (newton rings) hopefully they will cover it. i'll be using my friend's vogue and i just saw that they have a sense ui port for that one so it will be very interessting :)

Just tried the last version posted. Data works great, but had one hiccup. During initial setup, I did data to sync up with Exchange. The data worked for 5 minutes and went out again. After Sense loaded, it became more stable.

Only issue I have now is that speed is very bad. But I am guessing this will improve. At least now I sorta know what experience I would have with EVO.

For the last release i was beating my head on how we can improve speed. This is why we tried the Desire adreno200 drives but after testing we realized that the hardware 3d was not being used.

Still, Klinux released the update hoping that we can find other improvements that were not noticeable during our testing. I'm still testing to see if we can find the right blend of drivers and kernel changes to improve speed. Sense ui is very bulky so i think it will require a lot of tweaking. So hopefully next release we have some improvements.
