Sense working?
Hey, guys!
Loving Android on the TP2 (CDMA)! Has anyone seen a working Sense install yet? Thanks! Skip |

But it is still pretty buggy but does work. Once it is a little more stable then I am sure I will make links to it. |
Re: Sense working?
There has been a lot of progress but we are way behind this build. Keep checking the link above for news about the high res desire sense ui that will be up soon. Right now without wifi and cdma data its useless. I'm working with other rhods devs to see if we can get the gsm version up first.

Re: Sense working?
awesome any eta on a release? like i said im running the 2.1 from android on verizon with 3g working maybe its as simple as swaping out the old rosie system for the new desire. cant wait to give it a try.
|
Re: Sense working?
Actually its not that simple. Framework's are different and if you try to force Rosie it will just ignore it and crash.
I'll put some hours in this weekend and hopefully post something everyone can see. |
Re: Sense working?
Did you make any progress with the high-res release?
|
Re: Sense working?
Well he did post some files up but I gave them a shot and had to deal with endless kernel panics and so I couldn't get past the linux text boot prior to android booting. So hopefully he can figure out something.
EDIT: It may have corrupted my data.img because I am still getting KP... its like trying to get mac osx on my toshiba laptop, lol. 2 reboots later still no dice.... 4 reboots later I say FORMAT SD card and back to a fresh install again. Oh well its to be expected. |
Re: Sense working?
Tried new post, actually booted up, got the Sense lockbar, but after that got showered with FCs. Phone was more or less unusable. It did run at good resolution tho.
|
Re: Sense working?
more or less usable???
actually I'm still using it so far this is the best build yet but I will update my intrid, rootfs and zimage but so far very impressive though I am surprised that expresso isn't used in favor of rosie though I'm not complaining |
Re: Sense working?
Finally got this booted but I have no service or data, can anyone help me? I love the look of sense much more, I wish there was a dedicated cdma thread for it here.

Re: Sense working?
I cant get the system.sqsh file to run, the regular file for the xandroid works fine, but not having any luck, goes through boot fine, gets stuck at the HTC glowing for a while. anyone ever try it and had it working?

no errors at all...can change scenes change wallpapers but you cannot go online...so I can text, call, but zero internet as for the new zimage, rootfs, and intrd, there are some issues with battery monitor that renders android a bit unusable... though I have been using sense build and save from it being on my charger it runs well |

Re: Sense working?
Ive been keeping in touch to Klinux on XDA. He is the one who originally started the Sense porting for the other phones. Ive been really busy so i haven't had a chance to do much. I haven't even had a chance to try the latest release. i got a PM from him today and it looks like the last release works really well.
Try it out fellas.. |
Re: Sense working?
I have Sense working on my phone. Haven't played with it much (yet) but so far it is awesome!

BTW, fellas, the "HTC" screen taking forever is normal for first boot...so long as it isn't going back to the "Hero" screen, then "HTC" screen again. |
Re: Sense working?
ok .. the first thing that im switching is that boot screen. any other requests ? lol

Re: Sense working?
I used this file, extracted (a couple times) and nabbed the rootfs, initrd, modules, custom.tar, system.sqsh, and zImage..
*careful, as it doesn't work with some of the updated files, as I unfortunately just found out. Not sure data was working with it either. |
Re: Sense working?
Its actually pretty broken for me.
|
Re: Sense working?
Finaly got the 4-5 system to boot with the "3g fix". Not that suprised but no data go figure, calls and texts working fine the system all together seems extremly slow though not sure why the others werent nearly as bad.
