Is what I understand, is that I don't have to live with this retched tp2 upgraded to the wm 6.5?
Is what I understand that I can turn my touch pro2 into an bonified android? I have heard only awesome things about the android. how is its performance on the tp2? thanks! |
Re: Android/Linux for CDMA Touch Pro 2 Rhodium Updated 5-20-2010
The performance is great!
There are some things that don't work yet(see http://www.androidonhtc.com/wiki/Port_Status ) but I use my tp2 as droid 60% of the time because it's just amazing. |

I hate windows mobile. Its so freakin slow and it freezes sometimes and its driving me insane. I constantly have to reboot or reflash my phones. Android doesnt slow down or freezes when txting or making a phone call.

It just doesn't compare really. I mean, yeah the performance is *ok*. It's not great, it's just *ok*. Things that you would expect to be really snappy take a few extra seconds, so if you're patient (like most people in this thread), it would work out well for you, but don't expect the same snappy response as a nexus one or other new android phone. |

will this work, or do I have to pull the sim out? (I get no service with Force CDMA=1, and sim card in... I am going to try cdma=0 with sim in, to see what happens) edit--->As with old builds, sim card in.... no service!!! . I use T-mobile evry once in a while, when I don't have verizon service (voice / txt only) It would be nice to just switch CDMA / GSM at will, as I do with winmo. Also, I really don't want to pull out the sim every time I want to play with android. TIA, Chris |
