has anyone tried the download from the other thread?

http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=114400

They have links to another site (http://sites.google.com/site/androidport/downloads) where you can just download a .cab file. Is that different than if I followed the instructions from page 1 of this thread?

I aplogize everyone, work has just been crazy lately and I just haven't had time to keep up with anything let alone normal day to day stuff. I have asked that Reefermattness's thread be stickied, he seems to definitely have lots more time to keep you guys updated and has worked hard on a great script to keep the Kernel etc updated for you. I suggest you start using his, but mine is still here for those that want to continue discussion. I will be peeping in as I can and will update as I can but I think Reefer can keep you better informed. I am sorry, I know another thread is the last thing you want heh, but it was bound to happen.

Follow his thread in the stickies, here is a link:

Thanks for all your patience everyone!

Attempting to set a wallpaper other than the stock ones, either via using an image or browsing with OI File Browser results in crash and forceclose of the gallery application.

Also, frequently the system just plain locks up and does not respond. I've noticed power management seems to work independently of Windows's power management.

You might update to latest kernel and rootfs, got some changes to re-fix the gps issues and seems more stable now compared to the lockups due to the gps hangups on the last couple rootfs after the gps implementation.

cflynt,

How about you put together the latest all in one file for us with the updated rootfs?

It was with the updated kernel and rootfs that was causing it, all packages installed exactly as described on the topic page. I'm going to try to mix and match some of the components with a previous build of android that worked (Albeit with a lot of Force Closes I was constantly getting) and see if those go away but act more stable.

Yes, I agree. I took Mackie's last all in one and updated the rootfs, zImage and modules now WiFi and GPS coexisting well.

I have updated the Sense all in one with the new files. One problem with my previous builds was that it required calibration and I did not think twice about it to tell the people new to the project. Anyway, if you ever have a screen that is not moving and there is white square in the upper left corner then you need to touch your stylus in the crosshair of the square. It will then move to the upper right, the center, the lower left then the lower right. This build has the calibration file and will not require this step.

One note on this build is that when in Market if you try and use the search it will reboot in android. What I do is run the AOSP version and download apps I want then boot in to Sense and they will be listed on the download section.

Sense05-21-10.zip

This file unzips in to an 'andbootS' folder. So just unzip in to the root of your MicroSD card. If you want to run it with all the files in the root or in a different folder you must change to startup.txt file and remove or edit the rel_path line.

Keep in mind that this build takes much longer than the AOSP builds on the first boot and subsequent boots. Patience is your best friend on the first boot. If you see any force closes with to option to wait then select wait.

As always, please read the first page of this thread before posting questions.
