Re: Android/Linux for CDMA Touch Pro 2 Rhodium Updated 4-20-2010
Yea I had my sim out when I started it up. I attempted putting it in to see if that helped, but it still shows no service.
heres my startup: set RAMSIZE 0x6000000 set RAMADDR 0x10000000 set mtype 2292 set KERNEL zImage set initrd initrd.gz #pwf dm.txt 0x8e0000 0x20000 set cmdline "msmvkeyb_toggle=off gsensor_axis=2,1,3 lcd.density=240 htc_hw.force_cdma=1 physkeyboard=rhod400" boot |

Re: Android/Linux for CDMA Touch Pro 2 Rhodium Updated 4-20-2010
I'm trying a sense build too...the 05-04-10 one...and seems to be stuck in a cycle showing me the KlinuX Hero screen...then HTC...then restarts again...this is a Sprint TP2, and I'm running a Sense 2.5 windows mobile rom from Vin as my normal os.

Re: Android/Linux for CDMA Touch Pro 2 Rhodium Updated 4-20-2010
Use this build of rootfs: rootfs-20100514-f424a6d.zip
and this kernel build: Build: htc-msm-android@20100514_183419 kernel:f8a317cab6762dc9186ad67c5b269e41e02ede31 Wi-Fi:12e1f9b75b92213a6b028b3ab35a6e22f7217f80 Date: Fri May 14 18:34:19 2010 +0200 The newer versions of these did not work on my TP2. You can get non-debug kernel builds here: http://balsat.hopto.org/ - Use the first build on 5/14/10. ..Ramesh

Re: Android/Linux for CDMA Touch Pro 2 Rhodium Updated 4-20-2010
not sure which versions are coming in the all-in-ones but the actual website with the kernal downloads specifically say that the 5/14 kernals only work with the rootfs-20100514-f424a6d.zip build. any newer versions of the rootfs will have compatibility issues.
i went about installing android on my TP2 using the step-by-step process on page 1 of this thread and installed everything successfully with most of the newest, updated files. just gotta work on getting the Gen.Y dualboot to recognize how to launch my Android from the root of the storage card (not in any folders). |

Re: Android/Linux for CDMA Touch Pro 2 Rhodium Updated 4-20-2010
I put in the notes for "Rhod500" for the kernels as that is what Verizon TP2 is. I did some extensive testing with the different rootfs and kernels.
Using the non-debug build that I posted above, the speed of sense ui is very reasonable and very usable. I wish I could do search in market! ..Ramesh Quote:

Re: Android/Linux for CDMA Touch Pro 2 Rhodium Updated 4-20-2010
I need help. I've successfully installed this Android build according to the instructions and everything that should work at this point works with the exception of the facebook app. I went to the market and updated it with the latest version they offer and it will not complete the install due to a certificate problem. I'm not sure if the original facebook app worked because I updated the app before I even tried it. I've attempted to install the facebook app several times with no success. Is this a known problem or is it limited to myself. Does anyone have a solution?
Thanks in advance. |
