Mine starts in Landscape every time. I didn't disable auto rotation. After it boots i hit my back button and it goes back into portrait.

On a separate note I over clocked to 768, but can't find where to check. settings phone info seems to be grayed out. but it boots so i'm assuming it loaded correctly.

I got the oily screen a few months ago. It has to do with too much heat. My phone was on with backlight on (auto dim disabled) in my pocket charging.

What is this "oily screen" problem? Never heard a word about it until now... a quick Google didn't reveal anything to me, anyone care to enlighten me about this?

Try to Google "rainbow banding" and you will see what he is talking about. It's a real PITA, I had it happen to 3 different touch pro 1's and now I am on my 3rd TP2 because of it. All have been replaced under manufacturer warranty thank god!

Here is a pic from Slimicus, another user here with the issue...

.... Wow that would really suck, glad I haven't had to deal with that

Re: Android/Linux for CDMA Touch Pro 2 Rhodium Updated 3-31-2010

The oily/watermarked screen issue is heat/pressure related and we saw probably 100 TP1's and probably 10 TP2's with that problem at my office last year. It will eventually cause your touchscreen to stop working at all.

From what we can tell what happens is with enough pressure, parts of the touch panel film with separate from the screen at the edges and allow oil/moisture/liquid to seep inside. Some my tips would be, if its in your pocket it would help if the screen faced OUT and not IN towards your leg. Never use cases/clips/whatever that puts too much pressure on the screen

Re: Android/Linux for CDMA Touch Pro 2 Rhodium Updated 3-31-2010

For the oil/rainbow screen issue can also be caused by removing screen protectors. It pulls the top part of the screen away causing the oily look under the screen. It helps to remove very slowly and if you have the type you apply with water, you should use a hairdryer to heat before removal. See this video on www.clearfreak.com http://www.clearfreak.com/Articles.asp?ID=132#

Re: Android/Linux for CDMA Touch Pro 2 Rhodium Updated 3-31-2010

My TP2 is doing this "Oily" thing as well - its a problem with resistive screens - my TP1 did it as well

they are called Newton's Rings - more detail here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Newton's_rings

the plastic touchscreen part is separating from the glass due to heat and you get the newton's rings

I hope this helps
