Re: Android/Linux for CDMA Touch Pro 2 Rhodium Updated 3-31-2010

So, now that the big XDA build has been merged with CDMA support (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=627997), what is the preferred launcher?

I kind of like the one they have in .cab form over there, however I don't see much mention of it here, and I personally haven't been able to get it to boot yet.

How do you get Live Wallpaper working like it did in previous builds?
The app that enabled this used to be included in the Android Build, but I guess it was forgotten. I believe you can grab it from the market, but for those that just want it quick and easy. Download the livewallpaperpicker.apk attached to this post and transfer it to your AndroidApps folder on your Storage Card while in Windows Mobile. I don't have time to prove this out but it might go ahead and install it if it is in the root of your AndroidApps folder, but if not you need to install a File Manager in Android, I recommend Astro File Manager in the Market. Once installed, you will first need to Allow android to install unknown source apps. Goto the Home screen and press the menu button. Tap Settings, and then Tap Applications. Check the box at the top that says Unknown Sources. Confirm by tapping OK. No run Astro File manager or whatever you chose. Browse to the AndroidApps folder on the Storage Card. There is an app called LiveWallpapersPicker. Tap this file and Tap Open App Manager. Then Tap Install. And again, Tap the Install button now at the bottom. Now Tap Done. Once it is installed, Live Wallpapers should be enabled. Browse the market for some Live Wallpapers. Keep in mind currently we don't have Graphic Acceleration quite yet. But some might run regardless, just slower. Also note, currently Home++ UI will not show the Live Wallpaper, hopefully soon. But the default Home UI will as well as the Lock Screen even if you do wish to use Home++ UI. For those that don't know how to select Wallpaper, goto your Home screen and press the Menu Button and Tap Wallpapers. If you want Live Wallpaper, tap Live Wallpapers and then Tap the wallpaper you wish to enable. Then once the preview comes up, either tap the settings to adjust to your liking or just tap Set wallpaper.

Just so you know GSM and CDMA builds have ALWAYS been the same builds, the only thing different was our RIL. Which did get merged into the rootfs. So yes, there is no reason you can't use that cab. I worked with Reefermattness on incorporating the CDMA option in his script, which works very well. They have done a good job on it. Plus it will update your rootfs, initrd as well as kernels all from the script, which is very nice. So definitely feel free to use that if you wish.

Re: Android/Linux for CDMA Touch Pro 2 Rhodium Updated 3-31-2010

Using latest build, I let it sleep overnight and found this morning it could not connect to data network anymore. I had to put it it airplane mode and back to out to reconnect to network for data.

Also, I had to re-enable the market with market enabler after the sleep.

Any idea why this happens and how to get around it?

Thanks,.

Re: Android/Linux for CDMA Touch Pro 2 Rhodium Updated 3-31-2010

Also, on the battery, last night it was fully charged before I went to bed (midnight) and this morning by 11:30am it was fully discharged, had used it in data mode for 30 minutes, 1 missed call, checked voicemail (2 minutes) and 1 call (3 minutes), and another 20-30 minutes of playing around it was fully discharged (unit shutdown)!

updated rootfs.img for Verizon CDMA Touch Pro 2 Rhodium Updated 3-31-2010

So i created the rhod500 supporting files and have created an updated rootfs.img to add keyboard support for the rhod500 verizon keyboard.

This is based on the 4/3 drop from 00_MACKIE_00

I modified the rhod400 files and the init script to understand the rhod500 option.

So the updates are in the rootfs.img file - which is inside of the zip.

You must update your startup.txt to use rhod500 (instead of rhod400) at the end of the "set cmdline" --- physkeyboard=rhod500

the /init and the /init.etc/keymap/rhod5* are the updated files.

Say thanks if it helps! and could a smarter person please get this into the git, thanks.

File Type: zip rootfs.zip (4.71 MB, 18 views) Click for barcode!
